That Christmas (Netflix) Review :-
This Christmas movie is surprisingly heartbreaking, highlighting the loneliness that can accompany the holiday season, contrasting with the joy and cheer of Christmas. It serves as a reminder that not every home is filled with happiness during this time of year. Set in a seaside village, the film portrays how the community comes together to create a warm and festive atmosphere despite a looming blizzard. However, this particular Christmas seems to bring out the most unreasonable people and the most absurd situations imaginable.
I’m sure this was meant to be a lighthearted comedy, but the humor misses the mark most of the time, feeling more silly than funny. I didn’t see the point of much of it, as it rehashes scenarios we’ve seen countless times before. The storyline is predictable, and the number of poor decisions made by the adults—Santa included—is just frustrating to watch.
That said, That Christmas does have some genuinely sweet moments that will bring a smile to your face. While it’s not a film that will be remembered for years and is fairly forgettable, there’s a certain charm that will make kids laugh and catch the attention of adults. While much of the film feels nonsensical, there are heartfelt moments that will tug at your heartstrings. The kids’ storylines, especially Danny’s, are particularly heartwarming and could be relatable for many viewers.
As I mentioned earlier, this Christmas film is ultimately forgettable, designed more to keep kids entertained than to engage adults. While there are a few brief moments of charm, there isn’t enough substance to hold your attention. Overall, the movie feels repetitive and lacks anything that truly stands out, especially since many of the themes have been done to death. I think if the creators had broken it into smaller episodes and focused on the deeper issues behind the glossy holiday facade, it could have been more impactful. But as it stands, there are definitely better films out there that capture the true joy of the season.

That Christmas tugs at your heartstrings in moments, with some genuinely sweet stories. However, the film is overall quite predictable and, at times, can be frustrating. It’s a fun watch for the kids, but not as much for the adults watching along with them!
