Patna Shuklla Story:- “Patna Shukla” is a socio-legal drama addressing a relatively localized concern, which may limit its appeal to a broader audience. However, the ramifications of an education scam of this nature can extend far beyond its immediate context, potentially posing significant dangers.

A determined lawyer in Patna takes on a challenging battle against a university scam and the corrupt political system of the city to seek justice for an underprivileged student. However, her pursuit of truth puts her in a precarious situation.

Tanvi Shukla (Raveena Tandon) sits amidst male lawyers outside the Patna civil court, underestimated for her legal skills and known more for her homemade laddoos and domestic duties. Even her husband Siddharth Shukla (Manav Vij) fails to recognize her potential. However, when 22-year-old student Rinki Kumari (Anushka Kaushik) seeks Tanvi’s help to challenge her university’s unfair grading, Tanvi delves into the case and uncovers a larger scandal involving multiple stakeholders.

While predictability isn’t the film’s forte, writer-director Vivek Budakoti (alongside co-writers Sammeer Arora and Farid Khan) adeptly navigates a straightforward narrative without losing its essence. The portrayal of Tanvi’s modest middle-class life in Patna is depicted with finesse and simplicity. Despite being a courtroom drama, the screenplay avoids unnecessary dramatic elements, allowing the story’s core and message to shine through. This restrained approach to storytelling contributes significantly to the film’s appeal.

The film heavily relies on Raveena Tandon’s capable performance, portraying Tanvi with a nuanced balance of strength and vulnerability. Her restrained acting keeps the viewer engaged, despite the slow pacing. Manav Vij effectively portrays Siddharth, navigating the complexities of supporting his wife’s principles in a small town setting. The late Satish Kaushik shines once again as a laid-back yet discerning lower court judge. While some characters may feel clichéd, skilled performances by actors like Jatin Goswami and Chandan Roy Sanyal elevate their roles. However, the film’s music and background score fail to leave a lasting impression.

‘Patna Shukla’ delves into a localized issue, making it less appealing to a wider audience. Yet, it sheds light on the potentially dangerous implications of an education scam. While the narrative remains focused on its protagonist and key characters, it lacks depth in exploring the complexities of the academic racket it addresses. Nevertheless, within its constrained narrative scope, the film delivers a compelling story of resilience, determination, and the right to education.
