America’s Got Talent, known as the Summer’s biggest show, kicked off its 19th season on May 28. With Sofía Vergara, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel taking on judging duties, contestants are geared up to entertain audiences. This season, there’s a golden buzzer twist in store. The Golden Buzzer made its debut in Season 10 of America’s Got Talent. Created by Simon Cowell, the show premiered on NBC in 2006. Due to its massive popularity, NBC has produced three spin-off versions: America’s Got Talent: The Champions, America’s Got Talent: Extreme, and America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League, co-created by Jason Raff and Ken Warwick.

What’s the golden buzzer twist on America’s Got Talent season 19?

America’s Got Talent returns for an electrifying new season beginning Tuesday, May 28. As viewers immerse themselves in the auditions over the next two months, they should take note of a significant Golden Buzzer twist in Season 19 that will inject a fresh dynamic into the competition.

In the traditional format, acts typically require a majority vote to progress to the next round. However, for those seeking a direct route to the later stages, the Golden Buzzer comes into play.

Previously, the Judges and the Host were limited to using the Golden Buzzer just once each for a single act. But in Season 19, each judge is permitted to press the Golden Buzzer twice, advancing two acts directly to the live shows. Host Terry Crews will also have one Golden Buzzer, bringing the total to nine Golden Buzzers available this season.

Simon Cowell told People that the judges enthusiastically embraced the Golden Buzzer change from the beginning of auditions. “In the first two days, we’ve used more Golden Buzzers than we’ve ever used – that’s got to be a good sign!” Cowell shared with the site after the initial week of filming in March.

Has anybody received the olden buzzer so far in season 19 of AGT?

In the 2024 season of America’s Got Talent, both Richard Goodall and Learnmore Jonasi received a coveted Golden Buzzer, propelling them directly to the live shows slated for later this year.

Richard Goodall captured hearts with his rendition of “Don’t Stop Believin’.” Initially hesitant, he garnered encouragement from the crowd before delivering a standout performance that impressed both the judges and the audience.

Heidi Klum was particularly moved by Richard’s performance, expressing her admiration passionately. She exclaimed, “Richard, Richard, Richard, you knocked me off my feet. We all had the best time with you up there on that stage. I really, really feel something when I see you up there and hear you up there. And now, this is what I’m going to do for you because I love you.”
