Season 19 of America’s Got Talent has commenced with two exceptional contestants receiving Golden Buzzers, guaranteeing their places in the live shows.
America’s Got Talent Season 19 has kicked off with a bang, featuring two standout contestants who have secured their spots in the live shows!
On the premiere episode, aired on May 28, judges Simon Cowell, Sofía Vergara, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel witnessed a plethora of talented hopefuls. Amidst the impressive acts, two performers shone brightly.
Richard Goodall, a janitor from Indiana, moved the judges with his emotional rendition of “Don’t Stop Believin’.” Meanwhile, Zimbabwean comedian Learnmore Jonasi had everyone, including host Terry Crews, in stitches with his stand-up routine.
Both Richard and Learnmore received Golden Buzzers from Heidi and Terry respectively, ensuring their direct advancement to the live shows. Terry expressed his admiration for Learnmore, stating, “Brother, you will never have to go back home again because you are here with us!”
The Golden Buzzer, introduced in Season 10, is a special feature on America’s Got Talent. It allows judges or the host to send a contestant straight to the live shows if they are exceptionally impressed by the performance. This means that even if other judges hit the red buzzer, the Golden Buzzer winner advances, providing them with a significant advantage.
This season, there are even more opportunities for contestants to earn a Golden Buzzer. While Terry retains one Golden Buzzer, Simon, Sofía, Heidi, and Howie each possess two, increasing the chances for talented acts to advance directly through the competition.
Currently, Richard Goodall and Learnmore Jonasi are the first recipients of Golden Buzzers in Season 19, securing their positions in the upcoming live shows. Richard’s rendition of “Don’t Stop Believin'” struck a chord, earning high praise from Heidi, who remarked, “Richard, you knocked me off my feet. We all had the best time with you up there on that stage.”
