Godzilla vs. Kong: The New Empire continues to shatter records even as its theatrical run draws to a close. The colossal clash film has breached the Rs 100 crore milestone in India, securing a position among the top 15 highest-grossing Hollywood earners of all time in the country. This achievement is particularly noteworthy amid the ongoing struggle of local films to resonate with audiences, especially in recent weeks.
As per Pinkvilla, Godzilla vs. Kong surpassed the Rs 100 crore nett mark in India by the end of its fifth week, becoming the fourteenth Hollywood film to achieve this prestigious feat. In its fifth week alone, the movie amassed an impressive Rs 5.75 crore at the box office, registering a mere 28 percent drop from the previous week. The cumulative nationwide earnings of the film now stand at Rs 125.50 crore (Rs 100.25 crore nett).
Godzilla vs. Kong continues to hold its ground and is poised to conclude its theatrical run as the third-highest-grossing Hollywood release in recent months, trailing only Oppenheimer (grossing Rs 157 crore), Fast X (Rs 134 crore), and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (Rs 127 crore).
In Tamil Nadu, Godzilla vs. Kong has emerged as a standout performer, grossing Rs 32 crore in the state, surpassing blockbusters like Spider-Man: No Way Home and Avengers: Infinity War. The top three highest-grossing Hollywood films in the country remain Avatar: The Way of Water (Rs 467 cr), Avengers: Endgame (Rs 448 cr), and Avengers: Infinity War (Rs 297 cr).
Other notable Hollywood releases include Spider-Man: No Way Home (Rs 266 crore), The Jungle Book (Rs 259 crore), The Lion King (Rs 187 crore), Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (Rs 166 crore), Avatar (Rs 149 crore), Furious 7 (Rs 138 crore), and Jurassic World (Rs 129 crore).
