In Season 2, set in the 1980s, Máximo (Enrique Arrizon) works on repairing his relationships at Las Colinas after a fallout due to sharing secrets with Fabian Solares (Bayardo De Murguia), host of the celebrity gossip program Espectacular. Despite significant progress in his personal life, present-day Máximo (Eugenio Derbez) faces unforeseen challenges.

The season follows the older Máximo’s journey to the titular town for Don Pablo’s (Damián Alcázar) memorial, accompanied by his nephew Hugo (Raphael Alejandro). Throughout, Máximo’s bodyguard, Joe (Will Sasso), hints at a looming confrontation.
In the final moments of the episode, a shocking revelation occurs as Máximo approaches a door with Hugo, expecting to confront one of his past loves. Instead, they discover Máximo’s daughter, a revelation that leaves viewers eagerly anticipating a third season for answers.
Derbez expresses excitement over the unexpected ending, emphasizing the need to explore the identity of the mother and deepen the bond between Máximo and Hugo.
Despite the cliffhanger, the season ends on a brighter note for 1980s Máximo, who shares a kiss with Julia (Camila Perez), signaling a new chapter of happiness. Series co-creator Austin Winsberg highlights the desire to conclude on a positive note after emotional journeys throughout the season.
However, an ominous tone lingers as present-day Máximo attempts to warn his younger self about past mistakes, suggesting deep regrets that drive his actions. The interaction between older and younger Máximo evokes emotion and sets the stage for revelations in the future.
As fans await news of a potential renewal, they can relive the fun moments from Acapulco Season 2 on Apple TV+ while hoping for resolutions and answers in a potential third season.
