In this new season of the Netflix reality show, Seema Taparia continues to offer her trademark advice to her clients: “thoda adjust toh karna padega….100% kissi ko nahi milta”. This simple yet recurring message is her key selling point to help her clients find a suitable match.
While Seema Taparia’s approach hasn’t changed much, she appears more confident, well-known, and prosperous in this season. She travels across the globe to meet her NRI clients, engaging with them in her distinctive Gujarati-English accent to understand their preferences for a life partner. However, beyond this initial interaction, the show tends to lose momentum. The dates arranged by Seema often provide moments of unpredictability and occasional heartbreak, but much of it feels repetitive, especially with familiar faces like Aparna, Nadia, and Pradhyman returning from the previous season.
One significant change is that romance takes center stage this time, with Seema Taparia receiving less screen time. This shift is generally well-received by viewers. However, the show retains its regressive elements, such as consulting a pandit to address supposed marriage compatibility issues for individuals like 34-year-old Akshay. Additionally, a Chinese astrologer is brought in to analyze Aparna’s past struggles in finding love through arranged marriages.
Despite Seema Taparia’s makeover and the show’s polished production values, her expertise in matchmaking remains questionable. The series maintains its urban and high-class appeal, whether showcasing locations in Nashik or New Jersey. However, it’s worth noting that not everyone can afford a celebrity matchmaker like Seema, who isn’t afraid to offer candid advice, such as admonishing a client for placing too much emphasis on physical appearance.
In conclusion, while Seema Taparia’s methods and the show’s format remain largely unchanged, viewers can expect a mix of familiar tropes and occasional surprises in this latest season of the matchmaking series.
