War 2 Review :-
The YRF spy universe keeps getting wilder, leaving you wondering why it’s headed this way. In the second installment, Kabir returns, facing a more dangerous adversary who shocks both him and us, igniting a fierce rivalry unlike anything we’ve seen before.
Clocking in at nearly three hours, the film sees Kabir leaping, dodging, and fighting foes—male and female alike—as if his life depends on it. Wrapped in a strong patriotic vibe, he’s on a mission to protect India from all threats, while we watch the chaos unfold and, of course, witness his inevitable triumph.
The film drags on way too long and stretches believability beyond any limit, making it hard to take seriously. Honestly, after Jawan and Pathaan, I didn’t have high hopes going in. There’s not a single memorable song to save it—Kabir’s smooth dance moves and Kavya’s presence feel equally forgettable.
Reality takes a backseat here, leaving me with little choice but to review it through sheer disbelief. Kabir is treated like the alpha wolf, with actual wolves wanting to follow him. Over twenty mercenaries open fire on Kabir and Kavya in a crowded parking lot, yet not a single bullet lands. Raghu drops from the sky onto a ship in the middle of the ocean via an unmanned drone, then proceeds to kill hundreds of terrorists shirtless and unarmed—emerging completely unscathed.
It’s moments like these scattered throughout the film that make you roll your eyes while simultaneously resigning yourself to your fate—after all, you chose to watch this, and choices have consequences.
That said, credit where it’s due: the action sequences are slick, Ayan Mukherji’s direction is solid, and Hrithik Roshan looks fantastic as Kabir. As for Junior NTR and Kiara Advani, their roles feel a bit unclear, but maybe that’s beside the point. There’s a scene where, after having a secretive and important conversation in a crowded market, the two suddenly break into a dance like it’s the key to saving India from the villains. Spoiler: it’s not. I still can’t figure out why that sequence exists—much like my broader confusion about the film itself.
War 2 Trailor :-
My issue isn’t just that the film is illogical—though it definitely is. The bigger problem was how bored I felt throughout. Time seemed to drag endlessly, especially during a painfully long sequence about Kabir’s childhood that I desperately wanted to skip. Honestly, trimming some of the unnecessary, drawn-out songs might have helped, but then we’d have to actually focus on the main plot—and clearly, that wasn’t the plan.
Final Thought
Let’s be honest—we all know exactly what War 2 is, and why we showed up to watch it in theaters. Sadly, it’s not even a decent way to kill time; it’s so long that it quickly becomes painfully boring. While the action sequences and cinematography were enjoyable, everything else felt generic, illogical, and stale. Hopefully, the War 2 post-credit scene hints at a female-led spy universe—maybe this time Kabir will step back and let someone else take the spotlight for once.
