Walton Goggins is immersing himself fully into the post-apocalyptic universe of Fallout, the upcoming Prime Video series adapted from the beloved video game franchise. Goggins tackles the dual role of Cooper Howard, a B-movie western star, and The Ghoul, his 200-year-old mutant killer alter ego; two starkly different personas existing in contrasting timelines.

Fallout will debut in English with dubbed versions available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, beginning on April 11, 2024.

“The Ghoul is vastly different from Cooper Howard,” Goggins elaborates. “He’s much more reserved. And it was a bit challenging for me to embody both characters. Because you don’t truly comprehend one without understanding the other.”

While Cooper remains enigmatic for now, Goggins hints at a striking contrast between the two. “The Ghoul is a bit of a rogue, really. He possesses a great sense of humor, but beneath that lies a lot of pain. He’s witnessed much and experienced much, and so forth. Meanwhile, Cooper is a gentle, patient, compassionate representative of the Greatest Generation. He embodies the best of what this country stands for.”

Goggins’ portrayal of The Ghoul extends beyond mere acting. Bringing the character to life involved extensive makeup and prosthetics. “As The Ghoul, they digitally remove your nose, but the rest is all makeup,” Goggins reveals. “What’s it like to perform with all that on your face? Once we delved into who this character was and what he should look like, I knew it would be quite an intensive process. And the first time we applied the makeup, it took five hours in the chair.”

With the combination of physical transformation and the intricacies of character portrayal, Goggins eagerly anticipates fans immersing themselves in the world of Fallout. Alongside Goggins, Fallout features Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, Sarita Choudary, Michael Emerson, and Moises Arias. While filmmaker Jonathan Nolan helmed the first three episodes of the eight-episode debut season, he co-produced the series with his wife Lisa Joy under their banner Kilter Films.

Fallout will premiere in English with dubbed versions available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, commencing on April 11, 2024.
