Vikrant Massey became involved in a contentious dispute with a cab driver, resulting in a viral clip that has stirred considerable debate about its authenticity, with some labeling it a ‘publicity stunt.’
Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey, currently basking in the success of his recent film 12th Fail, found himself entangled in a heated dispute with a cab driver over the fare. The altercation, captured on video by the driver and subsequently circulated on social media, has sparked widespread speculation regarding its authenticity, with many questioning whether it’s a genuine incident or a promotional stunt.
In the video, Vikrant is seen contesting the cab fare, which he alleges is higher than the initial app display. However, the driver contends that the fare was adjusted by the app itself, absolving him of any wrongdoing. He accuses Vikrant of verbal abuse, declaring, “My name is Ashish. I am a cab driver. I have dropped my passenger at his destination, but he refuses to pay and is verbally abusing me.”
As the driver turns the camera towards Vikrant, the actor attempts to shield himself with his hand and retorts, “Why are you filming? Are you threatening me? I am justified in my stance. Why did the fare increase on the app? This is unacceptable.” The cab driver persists, “How is this my fault? You earn a lot of money. Why are you arguing?” Vikrant replies, “It doesn’t matter whose money it is. Money is hard-earned.”
While the video initially appears authentic, fans have speculated that it might be a promotional tactic rather than a genuine incident. Doubts arose, particularly due to the staged backdrop behind Vikrant. One fan commented, “The approach seems a bit casual for movie promotion.” Another remarked, “The script seems good.” Yet another fan suggested, “This looks like a publicity stunt for his upcoming series/film. And the violence isn’t visible.” Another fan humorously added, “Let’s have a moment of silence for those who believe it’s real 😂.”
As for Vikrant Massey, the actor anticipates the release of the sequel to Haseen Dilruba titled Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba. Additionally, he has The Sabarmati Report, a film based on the 2002 burning of the Sabarmati Express, in the works.
