Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video Review :-

Set in the late 90s, in a pre-Instagram world where privacy held a different meaning, couples rarely recorded their intimate moments for public consumption. So, the premise of a middle-class couple from Rishikesh losing their private video seems intriguing. What repercussions will they face, and can they ever get it back?

Unfortunately, the film’s writing and execution take an odd turn, shifting erratically between slapstick comedy, social commentary, and supernatural elements without clear justification. This results in a cluttered narrative that feels exhausting. Aside from Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, the cast includes Shehnaaz Gill with a dance number, along with key performances by Vijay Raaz and Mallika Sherawat. Ashwini Kalsekar makes a special appearance, while familiar faces like Archana Puran Singh, Rakesh Bedi, Tiku Talsania, and Mukesh Tiwari also contribute to the ensemble.

Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video attempts to evoke the 90s nostalgia much like Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015) but ultimately falls short. The writing fails to immerse the audience or its characters in the era they inhabit, resulting in a surface-level experience. The script presents a confusing mix of progressive and regressive themes.

Vicky, a male mehendi artist, falls for Vidya, a doctor—a concept with potential that isn’t fully explored. Instead, the film resorts to fat-shaming, thin-shaming, age-shaming, and other forms of mockery. A maid is ridiculed for her name being Chanda (moon), while Archana Puran Singh’s character faces jabs for wanting intimacy with her husband due to her age. None of these moments land as comedic as intended.

Rajkummar Rao, with his impressive acting and comedic timing, deserves better material, while Triptii Dimri, though charming, has a limited role. Vijay Raaz delivers some of the film’s best one-liners, though his romantic subplot with Mallika Sherawat veers into caricature. Mallika returns in a stereotypical role as a small-town seductress, which is intriguing yet predictable.

Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video Trailor :-

The ensemble film had the potential to be a comedy of errors reminiscent of Priyadarshan’s past successes, but it ultimately feels inconsistent and vague in its approach. The story lacks clarity in its goals, trying too hard to blend humor, nostalgia (with repeated 90s songs), and moral lessons. However, the climax takes an unexpectedly bizarre turn, shifting abruptly into activism before veering into horror-comedy territory. The inclusion of two mimics impersonating Suniel Shetty only adds to the film’s downfall.
