The Woman in Cabin 10 (Netflix) Review :-
Mystery thrillers are a dime a dozen on Netflix, and Keira Knightley’s The Woman in Cabin 10 fits right in. From the moment terminal patient Anne reveals her intentions after death, the direction of the mystery and the eventual victim become pretty clear. That said, viewers who enjoy straightforward, light-hearted mysteries without overly complex twists will likely find this film moderately satisfying, as it tells its story in a clear and engaging way.
The story follows a journalist who gets caught up among a group of pretentious wealthy elites willing to kill without hesitation. When she witnesses a woman falling overboard one night, she immediately sets out to find both the victim and the culprit—but not without facing obstacles along the way. The film is refreshingly straightforward, almost impressively so, following a nearly linear path to the truth and telling its story in the simplest, most direct way possible.
Maybe watching The Resurrection yesterday left my mind a bit tangled, but it’s this very straightforwardness that actually won me over this time. There’s nothing new or surprising here, yet the film felt cozy and comforting—reminding me of the crime-mystery movies I loved as a kid.
As mentioned earlier, if you’re a fan of crime thrillers, you’ll likely predict the story’s direction from the start. Still, the film manages to build and maintain a decent amount of tension throughout, even though it sticks to a familiar, well-worn formula without trying to break new ground. That said, I don’t think most viewers will leave feeling disappointed.
The Woman in Cabin 10 (Netflix) Trailor :-
Keira Knightley and Guy Pearce are essentially the only characters that stand out, and both deliver solid performances. Their characters, however, are quite one-dimensional—we know little beyond their basic roles: Laura as a dedicated journalist and Richard as a mysterious wealthy figure. The rest of the cast is equally bland and forgettable, contributing almost nothing meaningful to the story or runtime.
Final Thought
The Woman in Cabin 10 is perfect for a light, easygoing mystery night that doesn’t demand much thought. It follows familiar tropes and delivers exactly what it promises—but if you’re looking for anything beyond that, you might want to keep searching elsewhere!
