The Time That Remains (Netflix) Review :-
The film tells the story of an elderly woman named Lilia who is suddenly wounded when intruders break into her home, only for the attackers to die in the process. This isn’t the first time such violence has occurred—many have died at that house before, and each time, Lilia has been present. She isn’t alone, though; a mysterious young man with long hair also lives with her. When a nurse asks about their relationship, Lilia smiles and cheerfully reveals that he is her boyfriend, adding to the enigma surrounding them both.
Later, we discover that Matias isn’t the only vampire in the city—there are others like him who strive to live as normal a life as possible. Since they cannot venture out in the sun, they navigate their existence within strict limitations, all while keeping their true nature hidden. Unlike Matias, their situation isn’t as tragic because they understand the importance of avoiding human contact. Matias, however, falls hopelessly in love with Lilia and finds himself unable to leave her side after all the time they’ve shared. Having long yearned for human connection, her kindness becomes something he simply can’t resist.
Even when Lilia tried to move on and be with someone else, Matias stayed close, always watching over her. She, in turn, helped him find a more sustainable way to obtain blood without resorting to killing. Together, they brought out the best in each other, and through Lilia’s positive influence, Matias began to lead a more normal life. Yet, time remains their greatest obstacle—a relentless force that ultimately becomes their biggest adversary.

While the premise—of a vampire living with his elderly lover who rejects his cursed existence—is intriguing, the execution leaves much to be desired. The cinematography lacks polish, and the supernatural elements come across as gimmicky and over-the-top, evoking as much cringe as Twilight did. The ending is predictable and fails to deliver anything truly remarkable, and despite attempts to frame the beginning as a mystery, the overall narrative remains overly simple.

This is a decent one-time watch for anyone who enjoys supernatural monster-human romances. Being a short film, it won’t take up much of your time, so give it a try and see if it resonates with you.
