The Rabbit House Review :-

The Rabbit House had all the ingredients of a gripping mystery film. Set against the enigmatic, picturesque backdrop of Himachal Pradesh, the story unfolds in an old wooden house tucked away in a remote valley. With a sparse cast, including a controlling husband, the film promised an intense, claustrophobic narrative. Unfortunately, its potential is undermined by a self-indulgent runtime of two and a half hours, which saps the suspense and momentum. What could have been a thrilling experience instead becomes a drawn-out ordeal, burdened by unnecessary scenes. Even after the central mystery is resolved, the film stretches on with two out-of-place songs that add little to the story.

The film follows Komal (Karishma) and Shrikant (Amit Riyaan), a newlywed couple on their honeymoon in Himachal Pradesh. Shrikant’s overbearing nature casts a dark cloud over their relationship, leaving Komal constantly anxious about his volatile temper. Their chosen retreat, a secluded wooden house, soon becomes the backdrop for a chilling drama. The tension escalates when Komal mysteriously vanishes, sparking rumors of her tragic death after falling into the valley. However, the truth remains elusive, as a police investigation turns up no answers. The mystery intensifies when Mohit, the son of the retreat’s owners, begins to sense Komal’s lingering presence within the house.

Debut director Vaibhav Kulkarni begins with promise, crafting a story that sparks intrigue and hints at a thrilling narrative. However, the first half feels unnecessarily drawn out, with the 150-minute runtime dragging down the pacing. While the dynamic of a domineering husband and a silent, suffering wife is established early on, the story overplays this tension, making it feel repetitive and tiresome. When the wife vanishes, the script offers several chances to explore darker, more engaging themes. Unfortunately, these opportunities are missed, leaving what should have been a suspenseful turning point feeling flat and underwhelming.

The Rabbit House Trailor :-

Karishma gives a sincere and heartfelt performance as Komal, the suffering wife, imbuing her role with depth and authenticity. In contrast, Amit Riyaan’s portrayal of Shrikant, the controlling and indifferent husband, comes across as over-the-top, undermining the character’s believability. Padmanabh Gaikwad as Mohit offers strong support, delivering a grounded performance that adds a sense of stability to the story. While the film shows flashes of potential as a gripping mystery, its drawn-out pacing ultimately makes it feel like a missed opportunity.
