This is the tale of a modest vaanara who had forgotten his divine essence but was awakened to embrace his true potency and wisdom, transforming into an everlasting legend. When an encroaching darkness threatens cosmic balance, the fate of the universe rests on the shoulders of a young hero. Hanuman, stripped of his powers in childhood, embarks on a journey of self-discovery to rediscover the god within him. His odyssey traverses a diverse realm teeming with characters, demons, lost civilizations, cultures, and woodland entities, replete with rivalries, alliances, and wars. At each juncture, he and his allies must surmount unfathomable challenges to safeguard existence. This is the legend of Hanuman!

Several remarkable aspects distinguish this exceptional series.

The animation is lush, vibrant, and exudes authenticity. I was pleasantly surprised by the remarkable animation quality. Notably, the backgrounds are rendered meticulously, imbuing the series with realism. The utilization of 3D animation technology brings forth a visually stunning yet occasionally somber atmosphere. This is no ordinary animated world; it’s a fully realized 3-D universe, elevating the series to extraordinary heights.

Another standout feature is the captivating opening sequences of each episode, enriching the narrative with additional mythological context presented through drawings and static shots, a commendable storytelling device.

Special mention must be made of the artistic interludes interspersed throughout the series, such as the vivid retelling of Sita’s abduction in the forest by Lakshman and Ram. These segments unfold akin to a living painting, offering a refreshing narrative shift that enhances the viewing experience.

The characters are impeccably crafted and palpably authentic. Their movements, actions, and overall essence are meticulously realized. At times, the characters are so lifelike that one might forget they are watching an animated series—a testament to the exceptional craftsmanship.

Each episode, spanning approximately 26 minutes, delivers a compact yet fully realized narrative, compelling viewers to indulge in one more episode, and then another, and another. It’s undeniably a binge-worthy show and story.

“The Legend of Hanuman” caters to both children and adults. What particularly stands out is its balanced approach, neither overly simplified nor excessively complex. Regardless of age, one can immerse oneself in this captivating tale.

The voice performances, led by Da Man as Hanuman, Richard Joel as Lakshman, Sanket Mhatre as Ram, Vikrant Chaturvedi as Sugreev, and Sharad Kelkar as the narrator, are simply outstanding. Each actor breathes life into their respective characters, imbuing the narrative with authenticity. The meticulous approach of utilizing animatics during voice recording enhances the performances, lending further credibility to the series. The stellar cast and their performances truly bring the world of Hanuman to life in an exceptional manner.

There’s much more praise to shower upon this remarkable series, but I believe experiencing it firsthand is the best way to appreciate its greatness. Brimming with compelling storytelling, breathtaking visuals, and stellar performances, “The Legend of Hanuman” is a must-watch. Don’t miss out on this extraordinary journey!

Directed by Jeevan J. Kang and Navin John, and written by Sharad Devarajan, Sarwat Chaddha, Ashwin Pande, and Arshad Syed, “The Legend of Hanuman” is currently available for streaming.
