Zac Efron’s “The Iron Claw,” which also stars Harris Dickinson, Maura Tierney, Stanley Simons, Holt McCallany, and Lily James in significant roles, is set to stream on Lionsgate Play in India from June 14. The sports drama, written and directed by Sean Durkin, chronicles the real-life journey of the Von Erich brothers, who left an indelible mark on the professional wrestling scene in the early 1980s.
Amidst trials and triumphs, overshadowed by their commanding father and coach, the brothers strive for legendary status on the grandest platform in sports, as per the official synopsis. Zac Efron portrays Kevin Von Enrich, while Jeremy Allen White from “The Bear” fame embodies Kerry Von Enrich.
“They were magnetic, drawing attention like the biggest wrestling rock stars to emerge from Texas. Their ascent was rapid, their brilliance undeniable. They were exceptional athletes, all of them. Then, tragedy struck,” remarked Efron. “Their bond was unparalleled, unlike any other. The bond between brothers is sacred, and they possessed an abundance of it within this family,” he added.
In addition to Efron and White, “The Iron Claw” boasts a cast including Harris Dickinson, Maura Tierney, Stanley Simons, Holt McCallany, and Lily James in pivotal roles.
