The Great Indian Kapil Show Episode 1 Review:-  Renowned Indian comedian Kapil Sharma is now hosting a brand new comedy talk show on Netflix. Kapil Sharma, known for his stand-up comedy, TV anchoring, and singing, was ranked 96th among Forbes India’s top 100 celebrities in 2013. He has previously helmed popular shows like Comedy Nights with Kapil and Family Time with Kapil. Sharma’s achievements include winning Comedy Circus Ke Superstars and receiving the Entertainer of the Year award at the CNN-IBN Indian of the Year awards in 2013.
Titled The Great Indian Kapil Show, his latest venture promises a humorous lineup of diverse artists in each episode, ensuring an entertaining watch for all viewers. The show will premiere every Saturday at 8 pm exclusively on Netflix, featuring not only Kapil Sharma but also Archana Puran Singh, Sunil Grover, Kiku Sharda, and Krushna Abhishek.

As usual, Kapil Sharma took the stage and set the tone with his humorous anecdotes, including jokes about his mother silencing his father and the classic dilemma of sons getting into trouble with their mothers’ blessings and their fathers’ money. He continued with light-hearted banter as he introduced his new show, now produced by Netflix and broadcasted across 192 countries.

Following his introduction, Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni arrived dancing to inaugurate Kapil’s flight cafe, marking the beginning of a lively evening filled with family anecdotes and laughter. While the episode was enjoyable overall, it fell short in some aspects. The jokes, while not necessarily repeats of Kapil’s old material, felt overly familiar, lacking in freshness and originality.

The Kapoors reminisced about their past appearances with Kapil Sharma, which initially provided good moments of nostalgia but eventually became tedious. Watching four friends discuss memories without any added fun element or innovative concept to engage a global audience seemed lackluster.

Furthermore, Kapil repeatedly mentioning Alia Bhatt, emphasizing her relationship with Ranbir, became somewhat excessive. While acknowledging their relationship is appreciated, the frequency of mentions felt overwhelming.

Kapil’s co-stars Sunil Grover, Kiku Sharda, Krushna Abhishek, and Archana Puran Singh played their parts in entertaining both the live audience and the guests. However, the episode seemed reminiscent of Kapil’s previous shows, lacking the fresh and unique elements one might expect now that it’s on Netflix with a global premiere. Additionally, the comedians didn’t deliver particularly impactful jokes, relying instead on familiar, predictable humor.

One noticeable aspect was the setup of the flight cafe, which Kapil Sharma underutilized for generating more humor. Despite its potential, there were only a few jokes related to turbulence and the airport theme. The show could have capitalized on the unique setting by introducing creative games or concepts to bring freshness and uniqueness. Instead, it felt like another typical variety comedy evening show, a format that has seen various hosts over time.

While the first episode was enjoyable, largely due to the featured guests, there is hope for upcoming episodes with different artists bringing in new comedic moments. Kapil Sharma should consider incorporating more current and trendy jokes to avoid appearing outdated.
