The Girlfriend Review :-
At first, Bhooma embodies innocence—so timid that she hesitates to even defend herself after an accident. Over time, her character undergoes a powerful transformation: she finds her voice, stands up to her boyfriend with conviction, and moves from feeling trapped—visually symbolized by her entanglement in tree roots—to breaking free. Rashmika Mandanna captures these subtle emotional shifts beautifully, grounding Bhooma’s complex journey with nuance and authenticity.
Dheekshith Shetty is compelling as Vikram—the controlling, authoritative boyfriend whose love turns to anger and then revenge when Bhooma asserts herself. His transformation from charming partner to vengeful adversary showcases his acting range. Rao Ramesh portrays an overbearing single father, adding another layer of pressure, while Rohini delivers a brief but memorable performance that leaves a lasting impression on the story.
“Central to the story is the friendship between Bhooma and Durga, portrayed by Anu Emmanuel, showcasing how female bonds offer a sanctuary for self-discovery, independent of the attention of the man they both love.”
The Girlfriend Trailor :-
“A striking moment—Bhooma letting go of her shawl in the climax—symbolizes her transformation and liberation from her past self. The film reflects the realities faced by many young women, revealing how affection can often mask control in relationships with parents and partners, and laying bare raw human emotions. Through its emotionally resonant storytelling, director Rahul Ravindran delivers a compelling drama that confronts the uncomfortable truths of modern relationships.”
