The Conjuring - Last Rites Review :-

If you’re anything like me, The Conjuring universe has held a special place in your life since 2013. I loved the original film, so this latest installment feels bittersweet—though sadly, more bitter than sweet. With Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson saying their goodbyes, a lot of emotions are bound to surface, but honestly, I found this final chapter to be utterly disappointing.

The Conjuring: Last Rites begins and ends with the Warrens—especially Judy—confronting their deepest fears. While that’s a strong concept, the rest of the film falls flat, feeling like a tired retread of the 2013 original, only with older characters. Nearly every jump scare feels recycled, with only minor variations, making the experience frustratingly familiar.

A malevolent demon terrorizes a family of eight, and only the Warrens can step in to stop it—an age-old story that offers nothing new here. It makes you question the purpose of another installment when it simply retreads familiar ground. I’m not against the jump scares; that’s the franchise’s signature. What made the 2013 film stand out was how it built tension slowly, rewarding us with scares after long, suspenseful moments.

But repeating the same formula over and over dulls the impact, especially when you can predict every jump scare before it happens. The film mostly holds up because of Farmiga and Wilson’s magnetic presence, though Judy’s storyline feels unnecessarily stretched. On top of that, the plot is full of holes, leaving more questions than answers by the end.

The Conjuring - Last Rites Trailor :-

The ending offers the usual heartfelt tribute to the Warrens—sweet, yet uninspired, lacking anything fresh to truly grab our attention. That sweetness starts to test your patience as the film drags on. The family drama is engaging initially, but it soon makes you question its relevance in a horror movie about demon hunters. Sticking rigidly to its familiar formula until the very end, the film delivers a disappointing conclusion—one that might be entertaining in a casual group setting but ultimately falls flat upon reflection.

Final Thought

The Conjuring: Last Rites feels like an unnecessary farewell to a beloved—but often disappointing—franchise. While it might serve as a guilty pleasure for some, there’s very little new here that will genuinely capture your attention.
