Teenz Review :-
Teenz is one of those movies where the potential is far more exciting than what actually unfolds on screen. The film follows a group of 13 teenagers who decide to skip class and visit the village where one of their grandmothers lives. Along the way, they face numerous obstacles, and one by one, the teens begin to disappear.
The film gains momentum once the kids start encountering ghostly phenomena after skipping school. However, after the interval, Teenz shifts dramatically. The focus alternates between the teenagers and a new character, played by Radhakrishnan Parthiban. This character is intended to be significant, but the shift in focus and tone reduces the film’s intensity and impact.
While the film’s focus on the teenagers isn’t without its issues, their emotional reactions—crying, screaming, and running—along with the refreshing cast, manage to keep us engaged.
In the second half, the film aims for a more ambitious and expansive dimension, but it never quite achieves the intended grandeur or ethereal quality. When an older character explains the significance of certain events to the teenagers, it feels more like a classroom lecture than a meaningful conversation from someone with real insight.
The film struggles to balance its tone. It starts with a focus on the teenagers, then abruptly shifts gears to a more intense approach, ending up feeling disjointed. D Imman’s music generally complements the film’s mood, but some songs feel forced into the narrative.

What about Yogi Babu’s cameo? While the trailer suggested he might appear in a different, fresh role, the film disappoints. He shows up twice, with his second appearance feeling like a forced addition just to give him something to do.
It’s not just Yogi Babu; most of the characters, aside from the kids and Parthiban, are underdeveloped. This includes the children’s parents and a mysterious female character who seems intriguing at first but is ultimately used just for her close-ups. A major flaw of Teenz is that it doesn’t delve deeply into any characters except a few of the kids. For instance, when the film briefly explores the parents’ distress over their missing children, it fails to resonate because we are not invested in these characters.
