Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari Review :-
Writer-director Shashank Khaitan’s romantic comedy kicks off with Sunny eagerly preparing to propose to Ananya upon her return from Italy. He goes all out—recreating the grand setting of Baahubali, complete with towering statues of Baahubali and Devasena. But just as he’s about to pop the question, his dreams come crashing down—literally and figuratively—when Ananya drops a bombshell: they were never in a real relationship, just a “situationship.”
Still heartbroken but determined to win Ananya back, Sunny crosses paths with Tulsi—Vikram’s ex—thanks to his best friend Bantu (Abhinav Sharma). Despite their differences, the unlikely duo teams up and, along with Bantu, heads to Udaipur with a bold mission: crash the wedding and stop Ananya and Vikram from tying the knot.
The film plays with familiar rom-com tropes—like the transformation of middle-class characters into glamorous versions of themselves, and the classic ploy of making exes jealous to rekindle lost love. Yet, Shashank Khaitan keeps the story fresh and entertaining with a breezy narrative, sharp pop culture nods, and cheeky self-references—including a delightfully irreverent cameo by Karan Johar.
As expected from a film centered around a big, fat wedding, all the genre staples are in place—an opulent palace setting, dazzling outfits, vibrant festivities, and plenty of music and dance. The soundtrack delivers energetic tracks like Tanishk Bagchi’s Panwadi and a remix of Sonu Nigam’s Bijuria, along with the romantic Tu Hai Meri by Sachet–Parampara. While the songs are catchy and well-produced, their frequent insertion often interrupts the film’s flow and pacing.
The first half zips along with plenty of laughs, thanks to the playful chemistry between Sunny and Tulsi, and the lively back-and-forth between Sunny’s best friend Bantu (Abhinav Sharma) and the quirky wedding planner, Kuku (Maniesh Paul). However, the momentum starts to lag post-interval. Editing by Manan Sagar and Charu Shree Roy feels uneven at times—most notably during a jungle safari sequence and a few scattered flashbacks. Additionally, the depiction of Vikram’s elitist family and the cracks in their picture-perfect image feels somewhat forced and underexplored.

Few actors in Bollywood deliver comedy with the ease and flair of Varun Dhawan, and he’s perfectly cast as Sunny. His impeccable comic timing and effortless charm shine through—even in over-the-top moments like mimicking Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic “sattar minute” monologue from Chak De! India or channeling Salman Khan’s swagger. Janhvi Kapoor impresses as the understated Tulsi, blending vulnerability with a fiery spirit she herself seems surprised by. She handles both comedic and emotional beats with natural ease. Sanya Malhotra commands attention in every frame, while Rohit Saraf convincingly portrays the conflicted rich boy torn between love and his overbearing family, especially his domineering mother and brother, Param (Akshay Oberoi). One of the film’s standout scenes features the four leads—drunk and delirious—crawling towards a haveli on all fours like sloths, offering a hilarious, oddly endearing moment of camaraderie.
Final Thought
At its heart, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari delivers exactly what it sets out to—a vibrant, feel-good rom-com brimming with humour, charm, and spirited performances.
