Sumana mentioned, “I’ve been on a personal journey, pursuing my own endeavors, connecting with others, and expanding my network.”
Sumona Chakravarti, known for her roles on Colors’ Comedy Nights with Kapil (2013-2016) and The Kapil Sharma Show on Sony TV (2016-2023), recently addressed her absence from the Netflix series The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show in an interview with PTI. When questioned about her absence from the show, Sumona expressed to PTI, “I don’t have a definitive answer to that. The show I was previously part of, which aired on another channel, concluded last year in July. Since then, I’ve been on a personal journey, exploring different opportunities, networking, and meeting new people.”
Reflecting on the continued support from her fans, Sumona remarked, “I’m aware of the affection from fans; I’ve received their messages. I encounter people everywhere; even my neighbors express their sentiments (about missing me on the show) when I step out. It’s this encouragement that inspires me to embark on new ventures.”
“Last year when I was in London, I met numerous Indians who expressed their fondness for my work in ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain.’ It’s incredibly heartwarming to receive love, whether it’s for ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain’ or ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil.’ It’s a wonderful feeling, knowing that you’re making an impact. People didn’t expect me to excel in comedy, but I proved them wrong,” she remarked.
Sumona experienced a profound loss last year when she bid farewell to her beloved pet. Taking to Instagram, the actress penned a heartfelt note for her furry companion. Alongside a series of endearing pictures featuring herself and Bubbles, Sumona expressed, “After four days of fighting with all her might, we lost the battle. Bubbles left us last evening on February 7 at 7 pm to reunite with her brother Rooney in heaven.” She continued, “You never anticipate that the last moment will truly be the last. You assume there will be more. You believe you have forever, but reality reminds you otherwise.”
