Smurfs Review :-

Smurfs (2025) is a vibrant, fully animated reboot that balances nostalgia with a dash of contemporary energy. Director Chris Miller offers a straightforward adventure, placing Rihanna’s Smurfette front and center, with James Corden’s “No Name” Smurf delivering light comic relief. While the film has its charming moments, it falls short on humor and fails to generate the laughs that might have made it truly memorable. Following a familiar, well-worn formula, it plays safe rather than exploring bold or adventurous storytelling.

The story kicks off when Papa Smurf (John Goodman) is captured by the evil wizards Gargamel and Razamel (JP Karliak), prompting Smurfette (Rihanna) to lead the Smurfs on a daring mission beyond their village. While the narrative remains safe and familiar, it falls short of delivering the excitement typically expected from an adventure film. Despite its unusually brief runtime—a refreshing change—it often feels predictable and sluggish.

Musically, the film falls a bit flat. Despite Rihanna lending her voice, the songs don’t leave a lasting impression. The soundtrack is mostly restrained and forgettable, with one standout exception—the Punjabi-infused remix of Higher Love featuring Cardi B and DJ Khaled, which injects a much-needed burst of energy and fun. Still, overall, the music doesn’t quite lift the film to the heights one expects from a musical fantasy.

On the voice acting front, JP Karliak shines in his dual roles as the villains Gargamel and Razamel, adding subtle layers to the characters. Cameos from Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer as Asmodius, an intergalactic dark wizard, and Jimmy Kimmel as Tardigrade, a lovelorn creature, bring charm, though their brief appearances feel underused. Amy Sedaris as the talking magic book and Sandra Oh as Moxie Smurf add warmth and personality to the ensemble. New characters like the adorable yet fiery Snooterpoots infuse fresh energy, helping to keep the adventure lively.

Smurfs Trailor :-

Visually, the film shines with exceptional animation. The vibrant Smurf Village and enchanting magical realms burst with rich color and intricate detail, crafting an immersive world that will captivate younger audiences.

Final Thought

Smurfs is a pleasant, feel-good family film that sticks to familiar territory. It offers a comforting dose of nostalgia with a few modern updates but misses chances to be funnier, more exciting, or musically captivating. While it’s a reliable choice for families and longtime fans, viewers looking for innovation or sharper humor may find it somewhat bland.
