Sisu - Road to Revenge Review :-
Hollywood has long embraced the revenge-action genre, from Kill Bill and Taken to Gladiator, with contemporary franchises like John Wick taking the intensity even higher. Sisu quietly made its mark in 2022, and now returns with a sequel that fully embraces the legend of its seemingly indestructible hero.
Jorma Tommila returns as Aatami Korpi, the battle-hardened soldier whose family was brutally murdered by the ruthless Soviet officer Igor Draganov (Stephen Lang). Korpi’s goal is simple yet deeply personal: to rebuild his home in Finland. But before he can reach it, Draganov unleashes a squad of rogue soldiers to eliminate him—only to face a man who refuses to die.
Writer-director Jalmari Helander wastes no time diving into relentless action. The film opens with Korpi tearing down the remnants of his house and transporting the lumber across borders, only to be intercepted by Draganov’s forces, sparking a bloody chase that seldom pauses. What might have been a straightforward action spectacle becomes unexpectedly compelling, as Korpi’s rage is anchored in purpose—each act of violence is fueled by his drive to rebuild, reclaim, and avenge.
The action is relentless and inventive, with assaults coming from land, air, and water, each sequence delivering fresh brutality and ruthless ingenuity. The film occasionally tips into the absurd, yet it embraces its own legend so completely that the excess becomes part of the thrill. It’s revenge cinema stripped to its core, set against the frozen, unforgiving northern wilderness.
Jorma Tommila excels as the battle-hardened, near-silent warrior, letting sheer resolve and physicality carry the film. Stephen Lang, meanwhile, thrives as the unhinged antagonist, infusing the story with a chilling unpredictability that keeps the tension high. Their confrontation anchors the film, charged with raw ferocity and commanding presence.

Final Thought
Overall, the sequel rarely lets up, delivering a cold, violent, and thoroughly satisfying revenge saga. Packed with adrenaline, spectacle, and a protagonist you can’t help but cheer for, it’s a brutal yet entertaining extension of Korpi’s legend.
