Sikandar Review :-

Sanjay Rajkot (Salman Khan), the benevolent and fearless king of Rajkot, is revered by his people as Sikandar or Raja Saab. His confrontation with a powerful minister (Sathyaraj) takes a devastating turn, resulting in the tragic loss of his beloved wife, Saisri (Rashmika Mandanna). Before her death, she selflessly donates her organs to three individuals in Mumbai. Determined to erase her memory and break Sanjay’s spirit, the minister ruthlessly targets the recipients—a young boy from the Dharavi slums who receives her lungs, a brilliant CA topper whose ambitions are crushed by her conservative father-in-law and gains her eyesight, and a heartbroken college girl with a fragile heart who receives Saisri’s. As danger looms over them, Sanjay embarks on a mission to shield them from harm, transforming their lives while keeping his wife’s legacy alive.

A Salman Khan film is practically a genre of its own—brimming with gravity-defying action, larger-than-life heroism, and punchy one-liners. Directed and written by A. Murugadoss, this action-packed spectacle delivers on those expectations but falters due to an underwhelming plot and a formulaic narrative.

Sikandar embodies the quintessential Salman Khan hero—righteous, fearless, and nearly invincible, a character tailor-made for a grand Eid release. He single-handedly arranges medical treatment for 6,000 Dharavi residents, empowers a homemaker (Kajal Aggarwal), and supports a heartbroken college girl—all while taking on the minister’s relentless henchmen. However, the film’s predictability weighs it down. Santhosh Narayanan’s background score lacks distinction, while Kevin Kumar’s action choreography offers little beyond the usual fare. The fight sequences, though stylized, feel repetitive—slow-motion punches, airborne villains, and the obligatory car explosions fail to inject fresh excitement into the mix.

Salman Khan anchors the film with his signature star power, striving to infuse it with emotion and high-octane action. However, the sluggish narrative limits his performance, relying instead on over-the-top dialogues like, “Ab insaaf ki nahi, inhe saaf karne ki zaroorat hai.” Rashmika Mandanna appears in a handful of scenes and songs, but the issue isn’t her screen presence—she has plenty of that. The real problem is that she isn’t given much to do, leaving her with little opportunity to elevate the moments she’s in.

Vatsan Chakravarthi effectively slips into the role of a corrupt cop, fitting the part well. The real surprise, however, is Sharman Joshi as Salman’s steadfast aide. He not only holds his own against the superstar but also delivers a restrained and impactful performance, adding a refreshing dynamic to the film.

Final Thought

The biggest shortfall of this larger-than-life spectacle is its weak story and uninspired narrative. While it aims to captivate die-hard Salman Khan fans, it falls short of delivering the high-energy action they crave. A few standout stunts or adrenaline-pumping sequences could have injected much-needed excitement, possibly salvaging the film.
