SharkTankIndia Season3 Episode23 :- The Hindi-language business reality TV series, Hindi, airs on Sony Entertainment Television. Now in its third season, the show continues to enjoy immense popularity among Indian viewers. It features new-age entrepreneurs who present their business pitches to a distinguished panel of investors known as the ‘sharks’. These sharks evaluate the pitches and decide whether or not to invest in the showcased ventures.
Shark Tank India Season 3 features a panel of judges comprising Deepinder Goyal, Founder and CEO of Zomato; Azhar Iqubal, Co-founder & CEO of Inshorts; Ritesh Agarwal, Founder & CEO of OYO Rooms; Radhika Gupta, MD & CEO of Edelweiss MF; Varun Dua, Founder of ACKO; Ronnie Screwvala, Co-Founder and Chairperson of UpGrad; Aman Gupta, CEO and Founder of boAt; Namita Thapar, Executive Director – India Business at Emcure Pharmaceuticals; Peyush Bansal, Co-Founder & CEO of Lenskart; Vineeta Singh, Co-founder & CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics; and Anupam Mittal, Founder & CEO of People Group (including Shaadi.com).
Pitch 1 :- Artinci
The episode commences with the founders of Artinci seeking Rs 50 Lakhs for a 1.75% equity stake in the company. They share anecdotes about their family’s fondness for sweets and their motivation for venturing into the creation of healthy, sugar-free desserts. Exploring their range of sweeteners and personal backgrounds, they emphasize that their desserts avoid causing sugar spikes, unlike other sugar-free alternatives.
The Sharks express concern over the company’s losses, prompting the founders to acknowledge past business missteps. As each Shark offers guidance on reducing expenditures and rebranding for improvement, one by one, they opt out of the deal. Vineeta stands alone in extending an offer to the founders, outlining three conditions. After negotiations, the deal is sealed at Rs 50 Lakhs for a 5% equity stake and a 1% royalty until Rs 75 Lakhs is recovered.
Pitch 2 :- The Rage Room
Next up in the Tank is The Rage Room, leaving the Sharks puzzled as they discover its focus on providing a space for individuals to release their frustrations and anger by destroying items. Despite an entertaining pitch and a humorous backstory from the founder, doubts arise during a demonstration regarding whether this concept truly aids in relieving stress and if it facilitates the resolution of pent-up anger.
Although the founder mentions the existence of rage rooms outside India and the diverse clientele they attract, the panel remains unconvinced. Many express concerns about potential liabilities in the future, ultimately leading all the Sharks to decline the opportunity to invest after finding the business unimpressive.
Pitch 3 :- Aastey
Next up, we’re introduced to the founders of Aastey, a company specializing in sustainable and inclusive athleisure wear. Following their pitch, the founders seek Rs 80 Lakhs for a 2% equity stake. They delve into their backgrounds, sharing the genesis of their business idea and their branding aspirations. Additionally, they recount their engagement journey and how Lululemon served as an inspiration.
However, the Sharks raise concerns regarding the brand’s differentiation strategy. As the founders address these concerns, they reveal their expenditure on Meta Ads, which has significantly depleted their business savings. Shocked by the revelations, including Rs 1.52 crores worth of inventory with no funds in reserve, the Sharks withdraw their investment interest, leaving the founders empty-handed.
Shark Tank Season 3 Episode 23 Review
This episode of Shark Tank India introduced three new businesses, each with unique offerings, yet all delivering entertaining pitches. Undoubtedly, The Rage Room stood out as the most intriguing, with its activity and vision likely resonating with many viewers. The pitch and the Sharks’ reactions provided moments of hilarity, particularly the amusing banter between Aman and Peyush, not to mention Anupam’s interjections.
While the other two businesses may have seemed more commonplace, they offered valuable lessons for aspiring entrepreneurs on navigating the early stages of their ventures. Overall, I found this episode highly enjoyable, and the entrepreneurs and their businesses are sure to spark engaging and productive discussions on what strategies succeed and which ones fall short.
