In the 7th episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show, Kapil Sharma skillfully maintained a balance between interview segments and sketch comedy. However, Sharmin Segal and other actors from the web show Heeramandi seemed to have difficulty finding humor in Kapil Sharma’s jokes, which fell flat for them.

Kapil Sharma, known for his knack for spreading laughter, kicked off the seventh episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show on a delightful note by treating his guests, the star cast of Heeramandi, to some scrumptious pani puri, instantly winning over their hearts.

In the latest episode, Kapil took on the role of a lively pani puri vendor. The show commenced with a light-hearted skit featuring Kapil, Sunil Grover, and Krushna Abhishek, with the latter two eagerly eyeing the pani puri stall. This drew the attention of the Heeramandi cast, who joined Kapil for a quick bite, setting the stage for an episode filled with mouth-watering delicacies and entertaining comedy routines.

As Kapil Sharma engaged in conversations with Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Manisha Koirala, Sharmin Segal, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Sanjeeda Sheikh, his fellow comedians stepped in to keep the laughter flowing. After a hiatus, the show delivered a genuinely hilarious sketch, complemented by stellar performances.

Krushna Abhishek portrayed Jackie Shroff’s Chunni Lal from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Devdas, while Kiku Sharda, adorned in an elaborate Anarkali costume, depicted Madhuri Dixit’s character Chandramukhi. The sketch revolved around Chunni Lal and Chandramukhi navigating a long-distance relationship after Devdas’ demise. However, hilarity ensued when Chunni Lal couldn’t resist teasing Chandramukhi about her newfound curves. Despite Kapil’s show not being known for its politically correct humor, the highlight was when Kiku, portraying Chandramukhi, brilliantly shut down Krushna’s Chunni Lal, leaving Sonakshi Sinha and the audience in fits of laughter.

While Krushna and Kiku’s skit shone brightly, Sunil Grover’s portrayal as Engineer Chumbaak failed to make a lasting impression, leaving the stage without much impact. It’s not uncommon to encounter average or even below-par skits on Kapil Sharma’s show, but what truly matters is the reaction from both the guests and the audience. Throughout the 50-minute episode, Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjeeda Sheikh brought their best, engaging with the show wholeheartedly. However, some of the other actors appeared less enthused by Kapil’s lackluster jokes, struggling to muster genuine laughter.

Particularly, Sharmin Segal maintained a stoic expression throughout the show. While her deadpan demeanor might have felt out of sync in Heeramandi, it seemed fitting on The Great Indian Kapil Show, where she visibly struggled to find humor in Kapil Sharma’s flat jokes.

Nevertheless, the seventh episode managed to strike a commendable balance between interviews and sketch comedy, offering viewers a satisfactory entertainment experience. Looking ahead, anticipation for the next episode is soaring, as it will feature none other than Ed Sheeran, who recently made his third visit to India. In a teaser clip, the singer hailed Kapil Sharma’s show as the “craziest and most fun show” in the world. We’ll have to wait until next Saturday on Netflix to see if it lives up to the hype!
