Rulers of Fortune (Netflix) Review :-

In Rulers of Fortune, a group of power-hungry individuals will stop at nothing to control a gambling empire, all while the government turns a blind eye and murders are committed without consequence. The series will appeal to fans of melodrama, especially those who don’t mind a chaotic storyline full of unpredictable twists—and plenty of intense, squint-filled stares between scheming characters.

I enjoy shows like this because their over-the-top nature makes them strangely entertaining. Much of it doesn’t make logical sense, but that hardly matters as the story keeps swinging from one extreme to another. The plot itself is straightforward, exploring how power and money can corrupt even the most well-intentioned people.

It’s a familiar and repetitive story we’ve seen in similar series, but that audacity is part of the appeal. Profeta’s meteoric rise inevitably leads to his downfall, which keeps viewers engaged in multiple ways. The series also shines a light on how the women, despite doing most of the scheming and planning, are constantly sidelined, adding another layer to the drama.

This is a familiar theme in shows of this type, and while it may mirror reality, I admit I’m growing a bit weary of seeing it repeated so often. That said, watching Profeta evolve—and seeing his concept of family shaped by Leila’s influence—was genuinely engaging. The series vividly portrays every nuance and complexity, leaving little time for reflection, but the twists and turns keep the story exciting and compelling.

Rulers of Fortune (Netflix) Trailor :-

André Lamoglia and Mel Maia deliver strong performances with impressive chemistry, making their icy relationship’s gradual shift all the more engaging. The rest of the cast, including Larissa Bocchino, does an adequate job, but their characters are largely forgettable—familiar archetypes you’ve likely seen in other shows. The standout is Leila, whose personality and clear motivations give her depth and set her apart, while the others feel flat and uninspired in comparison.

Final Thought

Rulers of Fortune is an entertaining watch for fans of twisted, melodramatic drama. While it doesn’t break new ground, it works well as a one-time viewing experience—enough to keep you engaged, but not much beyond that.
