More about Panchayat
Set in the fictional village of Phulera in Uttar Pradesh, Panchayat follows the journey of Abhishek Tripathi (played by Kumar), an engineering graduate who, due to a lack of better job opportunities, assumes the role of a Panchayat office secretary.
In the same discussion, the director revealed their approach to crafting the third installment of Panchayat, emphasizing the importance of not being influenced solely by the popularity of the previous seasons.
“We were careful not to let the success of the first two seasons dictate our creative decisions. Our priority was to create authentic content while preserving the essence of the show. We aimed to progress the story naturally, ensuring that the new season is both entertaining and emotionally resonant,” Deepak elaborated.
Did you know Panchayat makers were initially unsure of the show’s success?
Mishra also disclosed that during the airing of the first season in 2020, there was some apprehension about whether the content would resonate with the audience. He mentioned that since the show was in a unique space at that time, there were uncertainties regarding its reception.
“We had invested significant effort into the script, incorporating creative ideas. So, we were confident that if viewers engaged with the entire show, it would be well-received. However, there was concern about what if they didn’t watch it? That would have posed a challenge,” Deepak pondered.
