“Pimp My Ride” is making a comeback—kind of. Actor and comedian Chris Redd is set to host Netflix’s latest auto makeover show, “Resurrected Rides,” premiering on July 24. This new series will feature eight episodes, each running for about 40 minutes.

Redd and his team of mechanics will help deserving owners turn their worn-out vehicles into stunning, roadworthy creations.

The original MTV series, which ran for six seasons and was hosted by Xzibit, inspired several international versions and spinoffs, including “Trick My Truck” on CMT. Each episode saw Xzibit and a team of mechanics revamping vehicles at custom body shops, initially at West Coast Customs and later at Galpin Auto Sports.

Chris Redd, known for his five-season stint on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” is also featured in Amazon Prime Video and MGM Studios’ holiday film “Candy Cane Lane,” alongside Eddie Murphy and Tracee Ellis Ross. He co-created, wrote, and starred in Peacock’s sketch comedy series “Bust Down.” His diverse credits include “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping,” “Disjointed,” “Wet Hot American Summer,” “Will & Grace,” “Detroiters,” and “Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents.” Redd will soon appear in the thriller “Merv,” sharing the screen with Zooey Deschanel and Charlie Cox.
