Paradha Story :-
Set in the village of Padathi, the film centers on a strict superstition: women must wear a veil, or else face sacrifice in the village well. Subbu, who faithfully adheres to this tradition and loves Rajesh (Rag Mayur), loses her veil one day and is captured by a mysterious photographer. When her uncovered face appears on the cover of a popular magazine, her engagement is called off, and the villagers demand her sacrifice for breaking the sacred rule. Determined to uncover the truth, Rajesh learns the photographer lives in Dharamshala, prompting Subbu to journey there with her aunt Rathna (Sangitha). What begins as a quest soon becomes a powerful journey of self-discovery and healing, as Subbu finds strength and solidarity in the company of women like Amishta (Darshana Rajendhran) and Rathna.

Paradha Review :-
Paradha is a heartfelt exploration of the lives and emotions of three women from different backgrounds as they embark on a transformative journey to Dharamshala. At the center of the film is Anupama Parameshwaran’s powerful performance as Subbu, a woman torn between tradition and change. Making her impressive Telugu debut, Darshana Rajendhran shines as Amishta, a driven, high-achieving professional who skillfully navigates the complexities of female friendship while challenging patriarchal expectations. Sangitha delivers a subtle and layered portrayal of Rathna, a housewife striving to reclaim her identity and independence from an overdependent family dynamic.
Director Praveen Kandregula crafts a compelling social drama focused on women’s empowerment and the fight against oppressive traditions. The narrative is beautifully enhanced by Gopi Sundar’s soulful score, adding emotional depth and resonance throughout the film. Complementing this thematic richness is Mridul Zarna Sen’s stunning cinematography, which captures the tranquil beauty of Dharamshala’s landscapes, infusing the story with a poetic visual elegance that elevates the entire viewing experience.
