Episode 9 of Nobody Wants This kicks off with Noah and Joanne discussing his lifelong dream of becoming a Rabbi. Since childhood, he has yearned for a sense of safety and belonging, and pursuing this path represents his way of fulfilling that desire.
However, the immediate challenge is meeting Noah’s parents, which is bound to be tricky. If they don’t approve of Joanne, it could jeopardize their relationship. Amidst all this, tensions remain high as Morgan and Joanne continue to clash.
Morgan insists she’s just trying to help and, on her way out, speaks to Sasha about Rebecca. She shares that Rebecca thinks she and Noah might be getting back together and urges Sasha to uncover the truth from Noah.
Meanwhile, Noah arrives with Joanne at his parents’ house. While his dad, Ilan, is warm and welcoming, his mother, Bina, is less than friendly. Things take a turn for the worse when Joanne inadvertently adds prosciutto to her food gift, a clear violation of Jewish dietary laws. It’s a rough start, but Noah quickly steps in to save her from further embarrassment by giving her a tour of the house.
However, when Joanne playfully jumps onto Noah in his bedroom, Bina unexpectedly bursts in and catches them together.
Downstairs, Esther chats with Sasha, revealing that Rebecca is fully aware of who Morgan is and pretended to be clueless. She spun a web of lies just to mess with Morgan, knowing it would eventually get back to Joanne. It turns out it was all a sabotage scheme (insert surprised Pikachu face here).
At the dinner table, tensions rise when Joanne and Bina clash over Joanne’s job. After making a misstep with her potential mother-in-law, Joanne decides to confront Bina to mend their relationship. When she walks into the kitchen, she discovers Bina indulging in prosciutto, which gives Joanne some leverage. She decides to keep this secret to manipulate the situation in her favor.
In a surprising turn, Joanne covers for Bina, and the drama between them is diffused. As they share a warm hug goodbye after a pleasant dinner, Bina makes a pointed promise that Joanne will never end up with her son.
Final Thought
Nobody Wants This continues its pattern of resolving drama within the same episode, this time revolving around Joanne’s meeting with Noah’s parents. Disappointingly, this is also the shortest episode of the series, clocking in at under 20 minutes, which leaves little room for deeper exploration.
This is particularly frustrating because the episode features some great dialogue and a few genuinely funny jokes. However, considering the lack of ongoing conflict in the series, it feels like a missed opportunity not to inject more chaos into the storyline.

Episode 10 of Nobody Wants This opens with Noah and Joanne getting ready for the bat mitzvah. However, Joanne is worried about feeling sick and may have to miss the event. She’s actually lying about her condition, fearing that Bina’s ominous words from the previous episode could spell trouble for her relationship. Of course, she doesn’t want to share this concern with Noah.
Amidst all this, Joanne confides in her friends and begins to contemplate the possibility of converting to Judaism. Meanwhile, Sasha talks to Noah, expressing her concerns that he’s overwhelming Joanne with his discussions about conversion.
Sasha also hints at the underlying drama involving Rebecca and Morgan, sharing the truth of the situation with Morgan indirectly.
Joanne comes to the realization that she was wrong all along and finds herself apologizing to her unpredictable sister, even though it was Morgan who initially stirred the pot by spilling the beans.
Despite their rocky past, the two eventually make amends and decide to crash the bat mitzvah together. They show up in outlandish outfits, making the day about themselves, even though it’s supposed to be Miriam’s special occasion.
In a heartfelt moment, Joanne declares her desire to embrace Noah’s world and expresses her happiness about converting to Judaism. Meanwhile, Morgan confronts Rebecca, calling her out for trying to sabotage Joanne and Noah’s relationship. She also brings up Sasha, leading to a revelation that sends Esther into a tailspin when she realizes Sasha has been confiding in Morgan.
Curious about the messages exchanged between Sasha and Morgan, Esther checks them but finds nothing inappropriate. However, alongside Bina, she decides it’s time for the sisters to take a step back.
Later, Esther discovers Miriam in the bathroom, tearing apart her dress in frustration. Miriam admits that she thinks the dress is hideous, and recognizing that it’s her special day, the two work together to fix their outfits and strengthen their bond.
After Rebecca storms out following Noah’s heartfelt speech, Joanne rushes after her to talk. During their conversation, Joanne admits that she has been somewhat obsessed with Rebecca for a while, only to discover that Rebecca has been feeling the same way.
However, the discussion takes a serious turn when Rebecca emphasizes the weight of the responsibility that comes with converting to Judaism. It’s not just about adopting a new faith; people will look to Joanne for inspiration, and she must set a positive example, which adds a significant amount of pressure.
Rebecca reveals that her lifelong dream has been to become Mrs. Head Rabbi, and with that dream slipping away, Joanne feels a pang of guilt. She confides in Noah, expressing her uncertainty about converting. While she finds Judaism beautiful, she’s not sure she’s ready for such a commitment.
Noah responds with a heartfelt “I love you,” which complicates things further for Joanne. Overwhelmed, she decides to leave him altogether.
As she walks away, momentarily forgetting that Morgan is still inside, Joanne heads home. To her surprise, she finds Noah waiting for her when she gets off the bus. Aware that he can’t have both his dreams and Joanne, he chooses to prioritize her above all else.

Ultimately, the show doesn’t offer much closure on various storylines, aside from the reaffirmation of Joanne and Noah’s relationship, which has been evident throughout the season. Given their trajectory, this choice was never really in doubt. While the series has had its moments, it ultimately feels quite forgettable, which is a real shame.
