Nobody Wants This Episode 7 (Netflix) Review :-

Episode 7 of Nobody Wants This opens with Noah being introduced to Joanne’s friends, who quickly start gossiping. Despite the chatter, Noah fits right in with the group. Now, the tables turn—it’s Joanne’s turn to meet Noah’s friends at a basketball game.

Though hesitant at first, Joanne eventually shows up, cheering for Noah and his team from the sidelines. As the game progresses, the energy ramps up, and Joanne enthusiastically supports the gang, celebrating with them when they secure the win.

After the basketball win, the group heads out for celebratory drinks. While Noah’s friends warm up to Joanne, their wives are much colder, with Esther leading the charge. Tension builds as the women, clearly unimpressed, take their husbands and leave. To make matters worse, these women are close friends with Rebecca, which only adds to the awkwardness.

Joanne, who has been following Rebecca on LinkedIn, knows she’s professional and admired, which makes her even more nervous about the upcoming gathering. She’s anxious that Noah’s friends—and eventually his family—will end up disliking her because of the wives’ influence.

Noah, sensing Joanne’s unease, suggests she find ways to win over the wives by identifying their weak spots. This strategy works for most of them—except Esther, whose guard remains up. Realizing she needs backup, Joanne enlists Morgan’s help. Armed with alcohol and charm, Morgan joins the group, hoping to break through the tension and bring everyone back together.

The plan works, and the women bond over a drinking game, taking a shot every time the boys miss a basket. Although Noah and his team lose the game, the girls cheer for every missed shot, using it as an excuse to drink more. Even Esther, who has been the coldest toward Joanne, begins to warm up—though not completely.

Meanwhile, Sasha offers to drive Morgan home, joking again about being the “loser siblings.” Outside, Rebecca shows up, and Esther takes the opportunity to badmouth Joanne behind her back.

Later that night at Noah’s place, Joanne stumbles upon an old photo of Noah and Rebecca together while rummaging through his cupboard. It’s hidden in a box of memories, and the discovery unsettles her. Though clearly shaken, Joanne forces a smile as she returns to bed, pretending everything is fine.

Final Thought

Joanne’s introduction to Noah’s friends doesn’t go smoothly at first, but things eventually turn around once the alcohol starts flowing. However, the lack of any real tension or meaningful conflict leaves much to be desired. The series continues to struggle with establishing a cohesive narrative, making it difficult to stay invested in the storyline.

Nobody Wants This Episode 8 (Netflix) Review :-

Episode 8 of Nobody Wants This opens with Joanne becoming increasingly fixated on the “Rebecca box” she found in Noah’s cupboard. She can’t stop thinking about it and eventually confronts Noah a week later.

Noah explains that the box is full of things he felt guilty about discarding after his breakup with Rebecca. He also admits that he didn’t want to contact Rebecca to deal with it. To ease Joanne’s concerns, Noah agrees to finally address the situation and promises to talk to Rebecca, resolving the issue almost immediately.

Meanwhile, at work, Cohen approaches Noah with an enticing offer—he encourages Noah to take over as Head Rabbi, a role that has always been Noah’s dream. However, there’s a catch. To secure the promotion, Noah would have to follow strict rules, including breaking up with Joanne. It’s the only way forward if he wants the position.

While Noah is away, Morgan convinces Joanne to dig through the Rebecca Box. Ironically, this invasion of privacy mirrors the very reason Noah broke up with Rebecca. Whether this will have any lasting consequences remains to be seen.

Morgan insists they should keep uncovering the past, while Lynne seems to be there just for the sake of it. Meanwhile, Rebecca is spiraling as Esther reminds her that she’s been invited to a double date with Sasha, Joanne, and Noah later that evening. But before the date, Noah asks to meet with Rebecca.

Noah hands over the box to Rebecca off-screen, putting an end to that chapter just before the double date. The evening goes fairly smoothly, but at the bar, Morgan strikes up a conversation with Rebecca. She encourages Rebecca to open up over a glass of wine—while secretly recording everything.

The romantic mood is shattered when Morgan begins badmouthing Noah and sends Joanne voice notes of Rebecca opening up about the emotional significance of the box. Joanne soon realizes the box is no longer in the cupboard, confirming Noah has given it back to Rebecca.

Furious, Joanne confronts Noah, accusing him of talking to Rebecca behind her back despite him doing exactly what he promised. Noah remains calm and even offers to let Joanne check his phone to prove his honesty.

Eventually, Joanne cools down, but one thing becomes clear—Morgan is a toxic influence. Feeling remorseful, Joanne apologizes to Noah before rushing off to confront Morgan. The two get into a heated argument, with Morgan belittling Noah as just a “random guy” and calling Joanne pathetic for being happy. They fall out, and Morgan, predictably, refuses to take any responsibility for her actions.

Still reeling from the argument, Joanne later finds herself in another serious conversation with Noah. He asks if she would ever consider converting to Judaism. If she says no, Noah admits he’s unsure about their future.

Final Thought

Joanne finally faces the reality—Morgan is a toxic influence. She’s been badmouthing Noah from the start, which isn’t surprising given that their whole podcast revolves around trash-talking guys.

But speaking of the podcast, are we just going to ignore the fact that their views have been steadily declining? What’s happening with the Spotify deal? Is the podcast still a big deal, or is it fizzling out?

And then there’s the issue of the box. In episode 1, it was made clear that Noah has a strong boundary against people going behind his back and snooping through his things. Yet, now Joanne does exactly what Rebecca did, and… nothing happens? No consequences? Really?
