No Gain No Love Episode 7 Review
After a wild night of heavy drinking, Ji-uk, Hae-yeong, and An U-jae end up so intoxicated that Gyu-hyun and the others have to carry them back to the hotel. The next morning brings a comical scene: Hae-yeong wakes up next to Ji-uk, screams in surprise, and then realizes An U-jae is also in the bed, adding to the hilarity. Meanwhile, Kwon I-rin talks to Gyu-hyun about transferring Ji-uk to another team led by An U-jae, hinting at some office politics brewing beneath the surface.
As the three groggily recover, Hae-yeong is frustrated to learn from I-rin that she’s discussed splitting into two teams with the CEO, effectively putting Ji-uk under U-jae’s leadership. This leaves Hae-yeong feeling trapped, despite being the supposed team leader. Meanwhile, An U-jae is annoyed that decisions about his career are being made without his input.
Before leaving the hotel, Hae-yeong and Ji-uk sit down to have a cup of coffee together.. Burdened by regrets about their marriage and its impact on U-jae, Hae-yeong opens up. Ji-uk responds calmly, almost indifferently, telling her she can ask for a divorce whenever she likes. Unbeknownst to them, An U-jae is eavesdropping and hears every word.
Back at the office, An U-jae grows increasingly suspicious and starts acting oddly. He moves his desk into their team’s space and frequently brings up the idea of Ji-uk and Hae-yeong getting a divorce. Hae-yeong, feeling uneasy, suspects he knows more than he’s letting on. During lunch, she offers the team gimbap, claiming that Ji-uk made it. However, when they taste it, they find it salty instead of sweet, sparking a hilarious round of teasing about Ji-uk’s cooking skills.
Tension mounts when a colleague mentions the consequences of misusing office benefits. An U-jae seizes this opportunity to suggest that Ji-uk and Hae-yeong’s marriage might be a prime example. Worried about being exposed, Hae-yeong asks Ji-uk to move in with her, believing they need to project a more convincing image of a real marriage rather than just an office romance.
Meanwhile, Gyu-hyun sends a washing machine to the community center orphanage where he volunteers. When Ja-yeon learns about this, she decides to visit the center while he’s there. To keep his bodyguard, Yeo Ha-jun, under wraps, Gyu-hyun grabs Ja-yeon’s hand and runs off with her. During their escape, Ja-yeon admits that her character’s name, Ha-jun, was inspired by someone she likes. Gyu-hyun pieces it together but stays silent.
Later, Ja-yeon notices Gyu-hyun’s eczema from washing clothes and plans to buy him some ointment. However, she’s startled to find him with Ha-jun. Panicking at the thought that her true identity as an adult writer might be revealed, she grows anxious. Fortunately, Gyu-hyun quickly steps in to diffuse the situation and ushers Ha-jun away.
To make their marriage appear legitimate, Ji-uk and Hae-yeong host a housewarming party for their colleagues, transforming their home into the ideal picture of a happy couple. However, when Ji-uk’s friend reminisces about his past popularity with women and how his marriage has disappointed many, Hae-yeong feels a wave of guilt. Convinced she’s trapping Ji-uk, she tells him she wants him to date freely.
Ji-uk responds by asking if she truly means that. As he moves closer, it seems like a romantic moment is brewing, but he simply takes the keys and leaves. Overwhelmed by unexpected emotions, Hae-yeong realizes her true feelings for him. She runs after him to the rooftop, where they finally share their first kiss, with Hae-yeong leading the way.

The pacing strikes a great balance, weaving tension between the characters with lighthearted humor. The chemistry between Shin Min-ah and Kim Young-dae remains captivating, with Young-dae surpassing expectations and bringing an endearing charm to his character.

The episode also deepens the characters’ arcs, especially as it hints at the genuine feelings developing between Ji-uk and Hae-yeong. While the storyline embraces its rom-com roots, it also tackles the complexities of their relationships. No Gain No Love Episode 8 Review
The episode opens with Ja-yeon and Ha-jun revisiting their old school, sharing memories of the past. Ha-jun then asks Ja-yeon why she transferred schools, prompting a flashback to a traumatic moment in her childhood. In the memory, Ja-yeon hides in a cupboard after her biological father discovers her foster home. He confronts Hae-yeong’s parents aggressively, but they protect Ja-yeon by assisting her in transferring schools and moving to another foster home to keep her safe from him.
Back in the present, Ja-yeon walks home alone and panics when she spots An U-jae standing outside. She quickly calls Hae-yeong for help. Meanwhile, after the unexpected first kiss between Ji-uk and Hae-yeong in the previous episode, we learn that An U-jae saw Ji-uk heading to the rooftop with his bag. To make their wedding seem more legitimate, Hae-yeong gives Ji-uk a quick peck. Annoyed by her reasoning, Ji-uk questions how she can kiss him without feeling anything. In his frustration, he kisses her again—this time, passionately—declaring that if she wants their marriage to appear real, he can play along too.
The next morning, Ji-uk and Hae-yeong are still bickering, clearly upset over the previous night’s events. Their exchanges provide plenty of laughs, including a comical argument over opening a jar and a roundtable discussion about the kiss. Later, Ji-uk visits Hae-yeong’s mom, who vents about her daughter’s impulsiveness. When she brings up Ja-yeon, they share a heartfelt conversation that lightens the mood.
Meanwhile, Gyu-hyun misses Ja-yeon, as she hasn’t reached out in a while. Just as he’s about to message her, she calls, asking to meet at the police station. There, she tells him she’ll drop the charges against him and apologizes, warning him not to harm Hae-yeong because of her. Gyu-hyun then reveals he came to confront the person he had been leaving hate comments for—not Hae-yeong’s sister.
As Ja-yeon insists they should never see each other again, she suddenly spots her father nearby. Terrified, she grabs Gyu-hyun’s hand, and they flee together. Later, we find her shaken and scared on the side of the road. To comfort her, Gyu-hyun sings softly, revealing a caring side she hadn’t seen before.
The next day, Ji-uk and Hae-yeong continue their playful teasing as they head to the office. During a presentation, Hae-yeong confidently showcases her strong, hardworking nature. However, it’s evident that Gyu-hyun has developed feelings for Ja-yeon and is frustrated that they can’t meet anymore.
Hae-yeong takes Ji-uk shopping for a bed, wanting him to sleep comfortably instead of on the cold floor. Their shopping trip features sweet, domestic moments, and Hae-yeong expresses her desire for Ji-uk to live comfortably. In response, Ji-uk admits that he likes her, knowing she feels the same way.
Meanwhile, Ja-yeon discovers that not all the hate comments were from Gyu-hyun. The most hurtful comment that led her to file a complaint was actually made by Ha-jun. Heartbroken, she realizes that someone she liked was behind the cruel words. Meanwhile, An U-jae’s wife grows suspicious of his behavior. She notices he seems to know too much about Hae-yeong and appears unusually happy while preparing for a work event with her, fueling her doubts even further.
Meanwhile, a mysterious man warns Ji-uk that Bok Gyu-hyun’s mother has discovered his true identity, advising him to be cautious for both his and Hae-yeong’s sake. Ji-uk thinks about telling Hae-yeong but ultimately decides to hold off. As they begin decorating the rooftop room, a romantic moment unfolds between them. Just as they lean in for a kiss, Gyu-hyun bursts in,
Final thought
This episode is filled with emotional revelations and intense character moments. Ja-yeon’s flashback provides a deeper insight into her traumatic past and her fear of her father. The show handles this storyline with sensitivity, making us empathize with Ja-yeon’s struggles and the sacrifices Hae-yeong’s parents made to protect her.
The exchanges between Ji-uk and Hae-yeong are both funny and touching. Their relationship evolves from a facade of a fake marriage to something more authentic, as they grapple with their feelings. The playful teasing and heated arguments maintain their chemistry, adding depth to their dynamic. Ji-uk’s frustration and the ensuing kiss highlight his growing emotions, making their relationship increasingly complex and real.
Gyu-hyun’s actions in this episode are surprising, revealing a caring side that sharply contrasts with the aggressive persona Ja-yeon initially perceived. His serenade to comfort her is a sweet moment that showcases his depth as a character. However, the shocking revelation that Ha-jun is behind the hurtful comment leaves Ja-yeon—and the audience—stunned.
An U-jae’s storyline introduces an element of mystery and tension, with his wife’s growing suspicions laying the groundwork for more drama. Ji-uk’s encounter with the mysterious man hints at a dangerous secret that could jeopardize his newfound relationship with Hae-yeong.
Overall, Episode 8 of No Gain No Love delivers a rollercoaster of emotions, expertly balancing humor, romance, and suspense. The cliffhanger involving Ji-uk’s potential connection to Gyu-hyun sets up an intriguing conflict for the next episode, leaving viewers eagerly anticipating what will unfold.
