Nice Girls (Netflix) Review :-

Nice Girls bursts onto the scene, promising a high-octane action-comedy set against the dazzling backdrop of France. The film follows Léo, a fearless cop determined to solve the murder of her colleague Ludo in Hamburg. Her investigation takes an unexpected turn when she is paired with Mélanie, a strikingly skilled German super-cop.

While the film aims to offer a fresh take on the classic buddy-cop formula, it soon falls into the trap of predictability, leaving the narrative emotionally flat and lacking the dynamic energy the genre demands. Despite its vibrant setting and energetic premise, Nice Girls struggles to transcend clichés, delivering a standard action flick that misses opportunities for deeper engagement.

From the start, the movie feels like it’s ticking off familiar genre tropes. Léo is the classic hot-headed detective who defies the rules, while Mélanie is the sleek, by-the-book professional—though the film hints at deeper layers beneath her surface. Their inevitable clash comes off as forced, and while their banter has its moments, it often feels more contrived than genuinely witty.

The film’s biggest flaw is its predictability. The plot, centered on a conspiracy that threatens to shake the foundations of government, is so overused that it becomes tedious. Every twist and turn is foreshadowed so clearly that there’s little opportunity for genuine surprise. The action sequences, though competently executed, lack the adrenaline-pumping energy needed to elevate the movie.

Nice Girls (Netflix) Trailor :-

While watching the film, I found it lacking in genuine humor and failing to spark curiosity about what would happen next. From Mélanie’s introduction as a supposedly elite German cop to the climactic fight scene, the storyline was overly predictable and relied heavily on familiar tropes and clichés. Everything felt too formulaic, as if it had been done many times before.

One aspect I did appreciate was the brief romance between Alice Taglioni and Baptiste Lecaplain. Although this subplot had potential, it felt underdeveloped and didn’t fully deliver the emotional depth I had hoped for. Overall, while the film had its moments, it struggled to break new ground and left me wanting more in terms of both plot and character development.

The film struggles to establish an emotional connection. Despite the personal stakes for Léo, it fails to fully convey the depth of her loss or the intensity of her quest for justice. The chemistry between Taglioni and Celma, while present, lacks the spark needed to make their partnership feel genuine, resulting in a dynamic that seems more like a plot device than a natural evolution of the story.

However, the film does have its merits. The Riviera setting is visually stunning, and there are a few moments of levity that are well-executed. Unfortunately, these bright spots are too infrequent to compensate for the film’s overall lackluster execution.

Final Thoughts

Nice Girls is a passable yet forgettable addition to the action-comedy genre. It’s the sort of film you might enjoy on a relaxed evening when you’re not seeking anything too challenging, but it’s unlikely to make a lasting impression. With a more inventive script and deeper emotional resonance, it could have been memorable. Instead, it ends up as just another average action flick that falls short of its potential.
