Newsense Review :-
Set in Madanapalle during the 90s and 2000s, the story delves into the world of unethical journalism practiced by a group of stringers and the rampant crime and corruption of power-hungry local politicians determined to seize control. Shiva, a street-smart journalist within this group, occasionally breaks from the norm by presenting partial truths, leading to trouble. The narrative explores the struggle between doing the right thing and staying alive, as these journalists navigate accepting bribes from both political parties.
The six episodes of the political series—Fourth Estate, Whitewash, Coverage, Limelight, The Glare, and Watch Dog—directed by Sri Prawin and written by Priyadarshini Ram, aim to shed light on the harsh realities of media’s role in society, the authenticity of news, and the effects of sensationalism. Set in Rayalaseema, the series authentically portrays the complexities of rural politics, offering a stark contrast to the exaggerated action sequences often seen in similar shows.
Newsense Trailor :-
The series showcases a strong performance from the lead pair, Navdeep and Bindu Madhavi. Navdeep, as Shiva, fully embodies his character and delivers a convincing portrayal, while Bindu Madhavi, playing Neela, an aspiring news anchor and Shiva’s love interest, offers a fresh perspective from the viewpoint of a female journalist in a male-dominated environment. The series gains renewed energy with the introduction of Sub Inspector Edwin, portrayed by Nanda Gopal, who brings a nuanced performance as a terse yet perceptive police officer. Supporting roles by Mahima Srinivas, Shelly Nabu Kumar, Ramesh Konambhotla, Charan Kurugonda, Purna Chandra, Gnaneshwar Devanapalli, Katta Anthony, Kumari, Chinna Kondayya, Nalla Sreedhar Reddy, and others are also well-executed.
The web series excels in production and technical aspects, with commendable cinematography, a compelling background score, and well-crafted dialogues that enhance the storytelling, making it a notable Telugu web series. Although the ending feels somewhat abrupt, it effectively sets the stage for the second season.
With its nuanced performances, engaging storyline, and solid production values, Newsense is definitely worth watching.
