NCR Days Story:-
Like many others in India, I’ve nearly stopped watching movies and rarely visit theaters. Instead, I turn to web series or binge-watch my favorite TV shows for entertainment. However, I recently felt a sense of monotony and lack of freshness in web series content until I stumbled upon “NCR Days” by The Timeliners.

I came across it accidentally while browsing YouTube for something to watch. The first episode immediately grabbed my attention, leading me to binge-watch the entire season in one go, and now I eagerly await the next installment.
Let’s address the negatives first. Yes, the series heavily advertises its sponsors, which can be a bit overwhelming. However, considering that “NCR Days” is available for free on YouTube, the amount of product placement is understandable, and I’m willing to overlook it.
Now, onto what I liked about the series. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a show or movie about people from diverse backgrounds forming unlikely friendships. As someone from the National Capital Region (NCR) myself, I’ve experienced this firsthand during my college days. Like the characters in the show, people from all over the country come to the NCR to study or work, and they form lasting friendships among their diverse groups.
The standout performances come from Nikhil Vijay as Monu and Ambrish Verma, who also serves as the show’s writer, as Naveen. Vijay’s acting is impressive, and it was my first time seeing him on screen. Verma, on the other hand, leaves a lasting impression with his portrayal of Naveen, the young and ambitious resident of Gurgaon.
Supported by excellent actors like Chote Miyan (Arun Kushwaha), who provides comic relief, Monu and Naveen navigate the challenges of an MBA college in the NCR while dealing with their own inner conflicts. Despite their differences, they find common ground and form a strong friendship, which is the heart of the show.
Special mention goes to Ambrish Verma for his portrayal of a character with shades of gray. His presence on screen is captivating, leaving me eager to explore his other shows after finishing “NCR Days.”
The show effectively captures the clash between big city aspirations and small-town roots, portraying the dreams and struggles of people who come to the NCR in search of opportunities. It delves into the darker side of cities like Delhi and Gurgaon, offering a compelling narrative that keeps viewers engaged.
In conclusion, “NCR Days” is a must-watch web series that aptly captures the essence of life in the NCR, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for engaging and relatable content.
