On this World Environment Day, Namita Thapar, the Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, underscored the growing apprehension regarding environmental degradation and its repercussions.

The judge of Shark Tank India took to her Instagram handle to share an informative video, aiming to raise awareness about the environmental crisis. In the video, Thapar shed light on concerning environmental issues, such as Delhi’s alarming air pollution, where a staggering 93 percent of residents are unaware of what AQI signifies.

The video also highlighted the severe water crisis faced by Bangalore’s Silicon Valley, the frequent flooding in Chennai, and the landslides occurring in Uttarakhand.

She emphasized, “But what are we doing about them? Let me share a quote with you, ‘We don’t inherit this earth from our parents; we borrow it from our children.'”

Namita Thapar underscored that a deteriorating environment can lead to various diseases like asthma, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), and more. Thapar stressed the importance of raising awareness, planting trees, conserving water, recycling, and undertaking small actions that can yield significant results.
