My Fault: London (AmazonPrimeVideo) Review :-

Last week, I watched Mrs., the Hindi adaptation of The Great Indian Kitchen—a powerful and meaningful story that deserves to be seen by as many people as possible. It’s not just entertaining, but also carries an important and compelling message. Adapting films into mainstream languages isn’t new for most of us, and it works when the movie is a) well-made and b) meaningful. Unfortunately, with My Fault: London, I can’t quite find a reason for its existence.

The film sticks closely to the original story, which, unfortunately, is part of the problem. The original story is not only illogical but also disturbing and cringe-worthy. Noah moves to London with her mother after she marries a wealthy British man, only to fall for her stepbrother. Of course, she does. In this world, attending a gala and sleeping with your new brother somehow feels normal.

Ray Fearon plays the new stepfather in this movie (who I’ll forever remember as the Hot Misogynist from Fleabag), and his relationship with Eve Macklin’s Ella is almost nonexistent and easily forgettable. But honestly, this film isn’t really about that. It’s more of a showcase of two very attractive teenagers trying to navigate their growing attraction to each other while living under the same roof. Ultimately, they realize that it’s probably better to be friends with your stepsibling than turn them into an enemy. The film mostly focuses on their make-out sessions and some drama, which, let’s be real, feels like something we’ve already seen in Twilight or the Fifty Shades series, in one form or another.

Let’s talk about Noah—though, honestly, there’s nothing new here. She’s basically Bella with a twist, sporting the typical “I don’t wear heels” persona. As for Nick, he’s equally bland and one-dimensional. The stereotypical rich, handsome kid who’s been spoiled his whole life—oh wait, scratch that—he sold his company at 17, so he’s not spoiled. But, of course, he’s soft and vulnerable only around Noah. There’s not much sexual tension between them, but I will give credit where it’s due: their chemistry is stronger than in the original.

My Fault: London (AmazonPrimeVideo) Trailor :-

Look, I’m all for enjoying a fun YA movie as a guilty pleasure, but this one lacks any real depth or logic, making it not even worthy of that label. There’s a car chase that’s mildly entertaining, but honestly, the movie offers so little beyond that. The background score is bland and forgettable, adding absolutely nothing to the overall experience.

Final Thought

My Fault: London is a pointless, unnecessary remake that neither adds nor takes anything of value. Sure, the original wasn’t great either, so really, whose fault is it if we expected more from it?
