Following his triumph on Bigg Boss 17, Munawar Faruqui unveiled his debut song, “Dhandho,” today, in collaboration with rapper Spectra.
After clinching the Bigg Boss 17 title, stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui debuts his first song, “Dhandho,” in collaboration with rapper Spectra and music producer Sez On The Beat. Faruqui delighted his fans with the official video release on May 9th.
Earlier, on May 7th, Faruqui teased the song’s poster on his social media, captioned, “Dongri se Noida crash course on 10th May…” The poster features Faruqui alongside rapper Spectra, both sporting white bomber jackets and black shades, amidst US dollars fluttering in the air.
In the recently dropped video, Faruqui, along with rapper Spectra, navigates the bustling streets of Mumbai, offering glimpses of the city and its denizens.
Centered around themes of wealth and influence, with “Dhandho” translating to “business” in Gujarati, the song boasts an infectious beat. A dynamic hip-hop track fusing underground elements with street-style rap, “Dhandho” heralds the reunion of Munawar Faruqui and Spectra after a four-year hiatus.
Expressing his excitement about the song, Munawar Faruqui stated, “I’m thrilled to introduce ‘Dhandho’ to the world, a track that encapsulates the raw energy of the streets. It’s a song about empowerment, rooted in underground hip-hop. Collaborating with Spectra is always special, and I hope everyone enjoys our creation as much as we do.”
Produced by Sez On The Beat under the Warner Music India label, “Dhandho” pulsates with vibrant hip-hop vibes, uniting two contemporary rap luminaries, Munawar Faruqui and Spectra.
Following the announcement of the song’s release, Abhishek Kumar from Bigg Boss 17 was quick to extend his congratulations to Munawar Faruqui, commenting, “All the very best, brother!”
Fans of Munawar Faruqui have expressed their elation over the latest track. One user praised, “He left everyone behind with just one rap,” referencing the lyrics. Another exclaimed, “Ohhh brother… what a song you’ve created!”
Meanwhile, some speculate that the song’s lyrics may contain subtle references to Nazila and Ayesha Khan.
