Mr. Bachchan Review :-

Harish Shankar’s Mr. Bachchan, the Telugu remake of the Hindi film Raid, skillfully adapts the original story to resonate with Telugu audiences. The film combines nostalgia with mass entertainment, featuring Ravi Teja and Bhagyashree Borse in the lead roles, and Jagapathi Babu as the antagonist. It successfully pays tribute to cinematic legends while delivering the high-energy drama that fans of Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja anticipate.

Ravi Teja, portraying Bachchan, captures the essence of his idol, Amitabh Bachchan, through his acting, body language, attire, and delivery of some of the legendary star’s iconic dialogues. As expected, Ravi Teja infuses his signature energy and impeccable timing into the role, enhancing the film, especially during its weaker moments. Bhagyashree Borse, making her Telugu debut as Jikki, adds a touch of glamour to the film with her striking presence, although her character lacks depth and primarily serves as a complement to Bachchan rather than having a distinct role. Jagapathi Babu stands out as the formidable Jaggaiah, delivering a compelling performance that intensifies the film’s drama and entertainment. The supporting cast, including Tanikella Bharani, Gautami, Sachin Khedekar, Subhalekha Sudhakar, and Satya, all contribute effectively to the film’s overall impact.

Mr. Bachchan Trailor :-

One of the film’s key strengths is its brisk pacing in the first half. The narrative flows smoothly with engaging introductory scenes, a depiction of village life, and a quirky, film-obsessed family featuring Tanikella Bharani as Thakur and Gautami as Basanti, while Satya adds a generous dose of humor. The period-specific backdrop, along with well-placed tropes and nostalgic songs, enriches the story and makes the initial part of the film especially enjoyable. The romance between the lead characters, imbued with nostalgic charm, further enhances its appeal.

However, the film starts to lose its momentum in the second half. The director’s attempts to incorporate exaggerated action sequences, uneven humor, and cliched commercial elements diminish the overall impact.

Mickey J. Meyer’s music is crucial in sustaining the film’s energy, while Ayananka Bose’s cinematography skillfully captures the retro theme and vibrant visuals. However, the editing by Ujwal Kulkarni could have been more refined, particularly in trimming the excesses of the second half.

In conclusion, Mr. Bachchan offers solid entertainment, particularly in its first half, but struggles to keep up its momentum in the latter part. Nevertheless, fans of Ravi Teja will find much to enjoy in this mix of retro charm and commercial appeal.
