Images and videos of the actress at the prestigious event quickly circulated across social media platforms. While Alia’s family members expressed their support and excitement for her Met Gala debut through heartfelt social media posts, her devoted fanbase also chimed in with admiration for her breathtaking ensemble. However, despite her mesmerizing appearance, Alia did not feature on the Best Dressed lists of prominent international publications such as Vogue, New York Times, BBC, and Vanity Fair. Nevertheless, this did not dampen the enthusiasm of Indians who celebrated Alia’s remarkable presence at the Met Gala.
Alia’s sister, Shaheen Bhatt, took to social media to share snapshots from the event, conveying her emotions with a butterfly emoji and a teary-eyed emoji. Similarly, Alia’s mother, Soni Razdan, joined the jubilation by posting a video of Alia and showering her with praise, captioning it, “My baby girl making everybody proud.” Soni also lauded designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee for his impeccable craftsmanship, describing Alia’s saree as “a stunning @sabyasachiofficial work of pure art.”

Sharing her thoughts with Vogue India about her ensemble, Alia expressed, “I am feeling great. I am very excited. Months of preparation have come down to this moment. I am wearing Sabyasachi Mukherjee. This is my second time at the Met and the first time wearing a saree. When I thought of the theme ‘The Garden Of Time’ I thought that there is nothing more timeless than a saree. This is all hand-embroidery. It has took 1905 man hours and 163 craftsmen, workers, everybody to make this garment.”
This marked Alia Bhatt’s second appearance at the Met Gala, following her debut last year in a Prabal Gurung couture ensemble.
