Love, Scandal, and Doctors, or LSD, launches with a gripping premise—an ironic twist of a patient’s murder within the sanctuary of life-saving institutions. Across its fifteen brisk episodes, the series maintains a relentless pace, following five attractive and youthful medical interns as they attempt to conceal the murder of their patient, Asif (portrayed by Pulkit Makol), from an astute inspector hot on their trail.

As the narrative unfolds through a frenetic non-linear storytelling approach, spanning the tumultuous events of the past six months in the lives of these doctors, it unravels a tapestry of dramatic twists and turns. The complexity of the characters, their relationship dynamics, childhood traumas, motivations, and sexual identities are explored with ambition, leaving little room for respite as suspicion looms over each individual.
While the continuous build-up of suspense serves as the series’ strength, the densely packed screenplay occasionally feels overwhelming. The intertwining relationships among senior doctors and interns, reminiscent of shows like Grey’s Anatomy, sometimes come across as contrived. The focus on personal affairs often overshadows the portrayal of medical procedures, despite sporadic attempts to inject medical terminology and showcase hospital settings. The excessive background score, unnecessary profanity, and frequent timeline shifts could have been toned down, considering the inherent suspense and drama within the narrative. Additionally, occasional dubbing issues prove distracting.
Rahul Dev delivers a fitting portrayal as the straightforward hospital dean, Dr. Rana, supported by a competent ensemble cast. While Punit J Pathak shines as Inspector Tavish Singh in serious moments, his comedic endeavors fall short. Among the lead actors, the female characters outshine their male counterparts. Tanaya excels as the blunt and astute Dr. Sara, while Neha Hinge and Ashmita Jaggi impress in their roles as senior resident doctors Chitra and Sam, respectively.
In summary, LSD is a high-octane thriller set amidst the passions and intrigues of young medical professionals. Offering a blend of entertainment and suspense, it’s a series worth exploring.
