Spread the love
Koffee With Karan Season 7 Episode 5 kicks off with Karan Johar playfully dubbing himself as the host and roast of the season, expressing his fondness for trolls, memes, and his reputation as the “Big Daddy” of star kids. He humorously blames the audience for making star kids prominent, citing the widespread fascination with Taimur Ali Khan. After a lively introduction, Karan welcomes the day’s guests – Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Karan’s first playful jab is directed at Aamir Khan’s attire, as the actor appears in a plain kurta and blue jeans, prompting Karan to quip about whether he missed the dress code memo. The conversation quickly transitions to Aamir’s decision to remake the iconic film Forrest Gump. Aamir shares the backstory of the project, revealing how the idea was first proposed by Atul Kulkarni many years ago, eventually leading to a lengthy process of securing the rights and developing the script.

Kareena’s casting in the film Laal Singh Chaddha is discussed, with Aamir explaining how she became the unexpected choice for the role of Rupa. Despite initial hesitations due to her age, Kareena’s screen test impressed the team, leading to her eventual selection for the role. Karan teases Kareena about her screen test, to which she humorously responds about her first-ever screen test experience.

The conversation shifts to industry trends, with Karan discussing the success of South Indian films compared to Bollywood releases. Aamir reflects on his impactful contributions to the industry, emphasizing the importance of storytelling and emotional resonance in filmmaking.

Karan lightheartedly remarks on Kareena’s changed behavior, noting her decreased involvement in gossip. The discussion veers towards partying habits, with Aamir confessing his aversion to loud music and preferring quieter gatherings. Kareena jokingly contrasts this with her own party preferences, emphasizing the fun and lively atmosphere.

As the conversation meanders through various topics, including Aamir’s selective movie preferences and Kareena’s familial dynamics, a new game segment called ‘Actor Trolling Actor’ is introduced. However, the segment fails to generate much excitement, with the banter falling flat.

The rapid-fire round proves underwhelming, with Kareena’s reluctance to answer most questions and Aamir’s diplomatic responses leading to a lackluster performance. Karan’s disappointment is palpable, culminating in a declaration of it being the worst rapid-fire round in the show’s history.

Despite the lackluster rounds, the episode concludes with the celeb-calling segment, where Kareena emerges victorious. The episode wraps up with a reflection on the meaning of luxury, with Kareena highlighting family time as her luxury, while Aamir emphasizes solitude.

In the end, Karan bids farewell to the guests, wishing them success for their upcoming movie, Laal Singh Chaddha, as they sign the iconic coffee mug.

Koffee With Karan Season 5 Episode 7 Review: Final Thoughts

The latest episode of Koffee With Karan fell short of expectations, presenting a rather average viewing experience. Whether it was due to the mismatched pairing of guests or the line of questioning remains uncertain. Additionally, the limited involvement of Kareena in the conversation left much to be desired. The recurring discussions about Aamir’s fashion choices and aversion to parties felt repetitive.

However, amidst the mediocrity, one standout moment was Aamir’s amusing confusion regarding the concept of a “thirst trap.” It would have been preferable if Kareena had the spotlight to herself as she undoubtedly deserves more attention and engagement in such settings.
