May the force be with Kelly Clarkson as she embarks on a thrilling Star Wars recasting adventure!

The Talk Show host embraced May 4, celebrated by fans as Star Wars Day, by reimagining some iconic roles from the 1977 film with a modern twist. From Florence Pugh to Jason Momoa, she had a star-studded lineup in mind.

Challenged to breathe new life into A New Hope with contemporary actors, Clarkson turned to Hollywood’s young A-listers. She brought back characters like Princess Leia, Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Yoda, and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Before diving in, she made it clear, “The original cast is already perfect. We love them. No dissing. No shade! This is just for entertainment!”

Beginning with Princess Leia, the Stronger singer initially considered Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown but ultimately chose Florence Pugh, admitting, “I’m kind of obsessed with her.”

For the pivotal role of Luke Skywalker, Clarkson deliberated between Timothée Chalamet, Tom Holland, Jordan Fisher, Harry Styles, Dev Patel, and Jacob Elordi. Initially favoring Holland, she eventually settled on Patel.

The winner of American Idol faced a tough decision when choosing her ideal Han Solo, particularly torn between Jason Mamoa and Matthew McConaughey. Eventually, she crowned Mamoa the victor, admitting, “Selecting Jason Momoa feels like I’m betraying Texas, but it’s Jason Momoa, so I have to go with him as Han Solo.”

She humorously envisioned Mamoa standing alongside Chewbacca, both being “big hairy beasts.” However, she later declared it a tie, acknowledging that the Interstellar actor would excel as a charming “a**hole.”

When it came to recasting Darth Vader, the choice was obvious for Clarkson, swiftly selecting Dune star Javier Bardem for his commanding voice. “Nobody can top Javier. Let’s be real, this guy is one of the hottest men alive. I’m going with his voice for Darth Vader,” she asserted.

Lastly, for the fan-favorite Yoda, Clarkson took the opportunity to play with the game’s rules. Despite Yoda’s absence in A New Hope, she selected Kevin Hart based on his voice alone.
