Kareena Kapoor elucidated the significance of her sons Taimur and Jeh understanding and valuing the reality that both their parents have professional commitments to attend to.
UNICEF India recently appointed Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor Khan as its new National Ambassador. At an event in Delhi, Kareena stressed the importance of teaching her sons, Taimur and Jeh, about respect and equality regardless of gender. She also shared insights into husband Saif Ali Khan’s approach to parenting and their commitment to setting a positive example for their children.
Kareena stated, “I believe that boys who witness both their father and mother working develop a deeper appreciation for the idea that I can also be occupied. Today, even though it was a holiday, they wished for me to stay home. However, I explained to them that I have work commitments. Taimur expressed his desire to be with me, saying, ‘You’re always traveling to Delhi and Dubai for work, and I want to stay with you.’ I assured him that work is essential too, and I promised to spend more quality time with him to ensure he never feels neglected.”
Kareena emphasized that Taimur would grow to appreciate and value the equality of both his parents working and returning home.
The “Jab We Met” star further explained, “Additionally, children pick up behaviors from how parents interact. Saif consistently reminds me that our children learn from observing how we communicate with each other. He stresses the importance of setting a loving example, as our children mirror our actions. That’s how I strive to instill a sense of respect in both my boys.”
