Kangana Ranaut’s recent address during an election rally, where she compared herself to Amitabh Bachchan, has stirred significant online discussion, amidst the attention her public speeches have been receiving.

Known for her outspoken nature, Kangana Ranaut is deeply engrossed in her Lok Sabha election campaign as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate in the Mandi constituency of Himachal Pradesh. While her public speeches have garnered significant attention, a recent address during an election rally, where she likened herself to Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, has stirred online discussions.

During the rally, she exclaimed, “The entire nation is astonished… whether I go to Rajasthan, West Bengal, Delhi, or Manipur, it feels like there is so much love and respect. I can confidently say that after Amitabh Bachchan, if anyone in the industry receives such love and respect, it is me.”

The video of her speech has gone viral, sparking varied reactions from netizens. Many have made sarcastic remarks about her comparison to one of Bollywood’s most revered icons, particularly considering her recent series of box office failures. “Kangana’s last hit film came in 2015 and after that she gave back-to-back 15 flops. Here she is comparing herself to Amitabh Bachchan 😂😂,” a verified parody account remarked while sharing the video on X (formerly Twitter).

“Kangana Ranaut’s claim of potentially winning a national award for her political role drew mixed reactions on Twitter. While some saw it as peak self-obsession, others deemed it the best joke of the year. A verified account supporting the Congress criticized Ranaut’s comparison of herself to Amitabh Bachchan, especially considering her recent string of box office flops.

Responding to Ranaut’s statement, another Twitter user shared an old news article highlighting the dismal box office performance of her 2022 action film, ‘Dhaakad,’ which sold only 20 tickets and collected Rs 4420 on its eighth day.

The Mandi Lok Sabha constituency is set to vote on June 1 during the final phase of the ongoing general elections. The seat, previously held by BJP’s Ram Swaroop Sharma until his passing in 2021, was reclaimed by Congress’ Pratibha Singh in a subsequent by-election.”
