Amid swirling divorce rumors, Jennifer Lopez has decided to cancel her summer tour, expressing that she feels “completely heartsick and devastated” by the circumstances.
Expressing deep regret, Lopez wrote, “I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary.” She reassured fans of making it up to them and expressed love for her supporters, signing off with “Until next time…”
Additionally, a message from tour promoter Live Nation conveyed that Lopez is taking time off to prioritize her children, family, and close friends.
The cancellation follows several adjustments and reductions to the tour, including the removal of dates and rebranding it as a greatest hits tour rather than focusing on her latest album. However, it also coincides with heightened scrutiny over Lopez and Affleck’s relationship issues dominating tabloid headlines. Reports suggest that the couple, who remarried in 2022 after their initial relationship ended nearly two decades ago, have been residing separately in Los Angeles. According to People Magazine, tensions between the 51-year-old Good Will Hunting star and the 54-year-old On The Floor singer have arisen due to their differing approaches to fame.
“She likes to open her heart to her fans and to the world,” quoted an unnamed source by the magazine. “He is more introspective and private. This has been difficult day-to-day.”
Their initial meeting took place on the set of the widely criticized movie Gigli, released in 2003. They garnered significant media attention during their courtship but delayed their planned 2003 wedding, subsequently announcing their split in early 2004. The moniker “Bennifer,” coined during their first highly publicized relationship, resurfaced in 2021 when images of their renewed connection circulated online.
They exchanged vows in a modest ceremony in Nevada in July of the following year, followed by a star-studded event at Affleck’s opulent 87-acre (35-hectare) waterfront estate in Georgia in August.
Reports suggest the couple acquired a $60 million residence together in Los Angeles last year.
