Janaawar - The Beast Within (Zee5) Review :-
Just as sub-inspector Hemant Kumar (Bhuvan Arora) is about to start his week-long leave to care for his pregnant wife, who is close to giving birth, he is called back to duty when a highly decomposed body is found deep in the forests of Chhand. Meanwhile, the local MLA arrives at the police station to report his missing brother, Sarju (Mridul Sharma). Adding to the growing mystery, the head of the dead body disappears before it can be sent for forensic analysis, and a complaint is filed about jewelry worth lakhs stolen from a nearby house.
With three cases unfolding simultaneously and pressure mounting from every direction, Hemant has no choice but to dive headfirst into the chaos—navigating layers of corruption, bureaucracy, and caste discrimination. While his baby is born in the hospital, he spends the week alongside his team of ASIs and constables—Balwant (Vaibhav Yashvir), Vimla (Eshika Dey), and Motilal (Vinod Suryavanshi)—working to unravel the mysteries. Meanwhile, on the sidelines are Inspector Dayandand (Atul Kale) and Kailash (Badrul Islam), the daily tea delivery man at the police station.
Janaawar – The Beast Within opens with a deliberately tense and bustling atmosphere. Even before Hemant is brought in to unravel the mysteries, a grisly murder is hinted at on a dark, eerie night deep in the forest. The ominous score heightens the suspense, complemented by winding tracking shots and sweeping top-angle landscape views. The first few episodes maintain the intrigue effectively, setting the perfect tone for a gripping crime thriller. Poignant moments are woven throughout, especially as Hemant faces discrimination both at work and in his personal life while simply trying to do his job and be a good husband. Bhuvan Arora carries the series with a subtle and impressive performance, strongly supported by Badrul Islam, Eshika Dey, Vinod Suryavanshi, and Vaibhav Yashvir.

Final Thought
However, as the seven-part series progresses and the mystery unfolds, not everything quite comes together or makes sense. Awkward dramatic scenes that feel forced and disconnected from the main storyline occasionally disrupt the flow. Additionally, the relentless graphic violence and gore may be too intense for some viewers. The show also introduces too many characters in an attempt to keep the suspense alive, but this only makes it harder to follow after a while. While the episodes are nicely paced at a crisp 20–30 minutes each, parts of the narrative feel repetitive and inconsistent.
Overall, Janaawar – The Beast Within succeeds in maintaining intrigue while delivering a message about humanity, dignity, and equality. Yet, it also tries to tackle too much, resulting in a cluttered narrative that stumbles at times.
