Indori Ishq Story :-
The plot centers on the love story between teenage sweethearts Kunal (Ritvik Sahore) and Tara (Vedika Bhandari), and how their relationship evolves over time. However, like most love stories, it encounters obstacles along the way. When Kunal discovers that Tara is cheating on him, it shatters his dreams of a perfect life with her. As the title suggests, “Indori Ishq” unfolds as a love story set in Indore. Kunal, a twelfth-grader, has harbored feelings for his classmate Tara for a long time but has never mustered the courage to confess his love to her. When he finally does, they both fall deeply for each other. However, like in any other love story, there’s more to their tale than just romance; it’s merely the beginning of a journey filled with twists and turns.
After completing high school, Kunal relocates to Mumbai to pursue a career as a Navy officer, while Tara continues her studies in Indore. Initially, their long-distance relationship seems strong, until Kunal uncovers Tara’s infidelity. This revelation transforms Kunal’s demeanor, revealing a darker, brooding, and self-destructive side of him.
Director Samit Kakkad, also the series’ producer, presents a character seemingly blessed with everything – a spot secured in a Naval College, proud parents, and a relationship with the girl of his dreams. However, when he faces betrayal, his life takes a tumultuous turn, with even those around him mocking his plight. Kunal’s character mirrors a modern-day Devdas, embroiled in a love gone sour and teetering on the brink of self-destruction. His friends Hari (Dheer Hira) in Indore and Mahesh (Aashay Kulkarni) in Mumbai, akin to Devdas’s Chunni babu, come to his rescue. The use of a fourth-wall-breaking narrative effectively gives voice to Kunal’s inner turmoil, providing insight into his psyche.
The screenplay by Kunal Marathe, which incidentally shares the protagonist’s name, is divided into two parts: one focusing on a high-school romance and the other delving into the aftermath of betrayal. While the depiction of teenage love is charming, the segments detailing Kunal’s heartbreak tend to linger. Lengthy montages of Kunal drowning his sorrows in alcohol and cigarettes, accompanied by retro songs, weigh down the narrative. Although some episodes keep the audience engaged, others lag, prompting anticipation for the next installment.
Prashant Rane’s cinematography aptly captures the essence of both Indore and Mumbai, enhancing the narrative’s authenticity. Ashish Mhatre and Apurva Motiwale Sahai’s editing skillfully transitions between the characters’ past and present, although certain scenes could benefit from tighter editing.
Given Kunal’s admiration for Indian Qawwali artist Altaf Raja, his emotional turmoil is often expressed through popular songs like “Tum To Thehre Pardesi” and “Awara Hawa Ka Jhokha Hoon, Aa Nikla Hoon Pal Do Pal Ke Liye.” Viewers are treated to a live performance by Altaf Raja in Indore, adding to the series’ appeal.
Ritvik Sahore’s portrayal of the carefree Kunal is captivating, endearing viewers to his character. His transformation from a romantic youth to a brooding individual grappling with inner demons is convincing. Vedika Bhandari adeptly portrays Tara’s internal conflict between love and desire. Kunal’s loyal friends, Dheer Hira and Aashay Kulkarni, serve as guiding lights, steering him toward a better path. Donna Munshi’s portrayal of Reshma, an estate broker and bar dancer, significantly impacts Kunal’s life trajectory.
While “Indori Ishq” briefly touches upon societal norms regarding commitment and fidelity in relationships, it primarily appeals to fans of romantic dramas. Overall, it offers a compelling narrative that is sure to captivate viewers for all the right reasons.
